The Dollyrots release new song, “MISSING YOU (I CAN’T WAIT)”

June 19, 2023

Pop Punk duo The Dollyrots are gearing up to head out on their Year of the Bunny Tour and have just released a new track. The song, Missing You (I Can’t Wait) was produced by Stevie Van Zandt at his Renegade Studios in NYC, with Geoff Sanoff (Fountains of Wayne, Darlene Love) Engineering and John Fields (Jimmy Eat World, All Time Low, Meet Me At the Altar) on mixing & Production as well. Singer/bassist Kelly Ogden comments, ”Missing You (I Can’t Wait)” was unfinished when we brought it into the studio in NYC to record with Stevie Van Zandt. We share a love of 60s pop harmonies, and that sensibility turned the song’s outro into the trippiest vocal layering we’ve ever done. It’s always a treat to collaborate with geniuses.” Check out the track here: Always active on the live circuit, the band is gearing up for summer tours in both the South and the West Coast with support by friends Don’t Panic and Dog Party. This Fall the band will also embark on a co-headlining run with Tsunami Bomb, [Read More]

Joyce Manor share new song “Don’t Try”

May 4, 2022

LA pop-punk trio Joyce Manor released another new track from their upcoming new record “40 oz. To Fresno”, which will be released June 10th via Epitaph. Check out “Don’t Try”: Originally, Joyce Manor wanted to take a little break from music, but thanks to the wish of singer/guitarist Barry Johnson to keep on writing during quarantine, their newest project “40 oz. To Fresno” was brought into life. Produced by Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Tokyo Police Club, Joyce Manor’s “Cody”), mixed by Tony Hoffer (Beck, Phoenix) with help from Tony Thaxton (Motion City Soundtrack) on drums, a feeling of liberation underlies this project. It’s strangely fitting that the title comes from an automatically corrected text message via Sublime. Those kind of lucky coincidences are on “40 oz. To Fresno” and they are worth the following acoustic hangover. Singer Barry Johnson summarizes: “This album makes me think of our early tours, drinking a 40 in the van on a night drive blasting Guided by Voices and smoking cigarettes the whole way to Fresno.” Since their foundation in [Read More]

It’s quite a lot to process and function through. The four of us have spent the better half of two years combining our reactions and emotions to these events and building them into five uniquely inspired tracks. ‘Lie Your Way Out’ touches on some heavy topics that we want to make clear where we stand. We fully understand that sometimes life just sucks and no matter how hard you want to see the glass as half-full, it still looks [Read More]

Why not write a love song about the bands that sparked a fire inside you? Why not decorate all the lyrics with band names and song titles? It was a true joy to write, and in its own weird way, it felt like we were writing this in the 2000s. So if you were there, we hope [Read More]
