U.G.L.Y. Debut EP DMT is out now and definitely is a must have!

Today is the release date for U.G.L.Y. debut EP DMT and it really is a great one and a must have. U.G.L.Y. which is an acronym for Under Greatness Lies You is Mijo (vocals/triggers/electronic drums), Braxton Olita (vocals/guitar/electronic drums/production), and Stormi Henley (vocals/keys/synths). Their newly released 6 track EP is primarily written and produced by the trio. Together they create a larger than life sound that is reminiscent of all the great ’90s electronic music but also updated and given new life with their own creative edge. It is magical, ethereal, blissful, haunting and purely entertaining.Here is a trailer for their EP:

The three come from very diverse musical backgrounds and as Braxton explains, We’re a melting pot of music. It’s a cross section of R&B, reggae, punk, electronic music, and all of our other influences. The goal is to reach as many people as possible. We’re pushing boundaries and incorporating so many styles into what we do.” They have definitely achieved that and quite successfully,

Regardless of what you typically listen to, U.G.L.Y. is absolutely captivating and will soon become a playlist favorite. “We create something that everyone can be a part of. We’re expressing ourselves and thriving on this artistic freedom we have. Life is an amazing journey. Everybody can find greatness,” Stormi shares.

One of my favorites off the new EP is “Fairy Tale” and is a well written tune that paints an ethereal picture in your mind and takes you on musical journey. Mijo explains more about the name, “U.G.L.Y. stands for something good, We wanted to start a movement or culture for creativity and positivity. The idea is that you can do anything you want. Be as epic and as fly as you want to be.”
