GRETA VAN FLEET delivers stellar performance in Sacramento on final Dreams In Gold tour

March 30, 2023

One thing is certain Greta Van Fleet holds a special place for us.  Their music back in 2017 was not only the soundtrack to our tumultuous ups and downs but it was what provided healing for us as we lost our home and business during the Santa Rosa 2017 Wildfires.  We have enjoyed the journey and growth through their music in the past several years and with the new songs, they have continued to grow in every way. We recently caught Greta Van Fleet in Sacramento at the Golden1 Center for their final performance on the Dreams in Gold (DIG) tour.  It was an epic show that not only was the perfect way to close out the DIG era, but ushered us in to the next phase of their musical journey. The show kicked off with a killer set by one of our faves, two-time Grammy nominated band,  The Rival Sons.  The crowd rocked out to their energetic set and they treated them to a performance of their new song, Rapture which is off [Read More]

The Amity Affliction finish their European tour in Munich

February 6, 2023

Last Saturday fans were in for a treat at the Backstage in Munich. It was the last stop on The Amity Affliction’s tour through the EU/UK in 2023. Actually, it should have happened in October 2022, but it was postponed back then. Munich was one of the places that were sold out. It’s not often that even the road to the venue is blocked by all the cars that were waiting for a parking space. The queue in front of the venue was gigantic and when Seeyouspacecowboy started their set about 45 minutes after doors, there still were people pouring through the doors. All the bands put on great shows, but when The Amity Affliction started their set with “Pittsburgh” everyone went wild. I’ve never seen this venue so packed. The crowd was singing every song at the top of their lungs. Crowd surfers were “handed” to the front all smiles and the minute they got back on their feet, they went back into the audience to do it all over again. They played a [Read More]

Architects – FTTWTE tour finally hits Germany

January 13, 2023

Originally, the “For Those That Wish To Exist” was supposed to hit German stages last year. Unfortunately, the band had to postpone the tour. Almost a year later and also one album later, the band finally made it. I was able to catch the band live in Munich and believe me, they made the wait worthwhile. But first off let’s talk about the bands that opened the night. Show start was supposed to be 7 pm. At 6.50 pm the first opener got on stage a little bit ahead of the schedule. Maybe not the best idea, because the first bands of the night always have to fight with the venue not being very crowded, let alone when the show starts earlier than announced. I don’t really get, why people don’t take the chance to check out opening acts, esp. this one – Sleep Token. The band is from London. Their set is probably best described as dark and gloomy, which totally fits the sound. They were not unknown to parts of the audience and [Read More]

Cory Wells live in Munich with Youth Fountain & Modern Fireworks

October 3, 2022

It’s been a while since Cory Wells has been on tour in Europe, 2 1/2 years to be precise. This tour was originally set for early 2022 but had to be postponed due to Covid. Cory Wells has been playing in Munich for the third time now. Every time in another venue. This time at the Backstage, as you might know from the past, my favorite one in town. It was solely an acoustic evening with three artists – opening (local) act Modern Fireworks from Regensburg (Bavaria), Youth Fountain, and Cory Wells. The venue has been packed from the first act on, which certainly isn’t a regular thing. Though most people certainly came for Cory Wells, the other acts also managed to keep the crowd going and had people sing along to some catchy tunes. Cory Wells definitely gained a bigger audience over the years, even though he hasn’t been here for a while (like many bands due to the pandemic). He played well-known tunes like “Patience”, “The End Of A Good Thing”, “Harbor”, “Cement” [Read More]

The Suffers new album and check out their set at BottleRock Napa

June 9, 2022

Gulf Coast soul band The Suffers took the crowd by storm with their set at BottleRock Napa 2022.  The crowd went wild for their high energy groovin set. They instantly had the crowd on their feet and dancing around.  Check out some photos from their set: The Suffers released their new album It Starts With Love via Missing Piece Records on June 3rd. The song features their song, Nunya which frontwoman Kam Franklin describes: “‘Nunya’ is a song about just a few of the hardships, lessons, wins and losses we have experienced in our 11 years together as a band. I wrote it in Nashville after experiencing a really bad day filled with big promises, gaslighting, and deceitful behavior from an industry big whig. Instead of letting the moment get the best of me, I decided to fight back via song. ‘Nunya’ allowed me to air some industry grievances, confront the trauma that came with having our gear stolen a few years back, and it gave me my power back. We recorded most of it with [Read More]

Kelsy Karter delivers flawless high energy set out on her Pink Kink & Punk Tour with a stop in San Francisco

April 14, 2022

It was our first show in two years and we couldn’t have asked for a better return to the live music scene than Kelsy Karter and the Hot Trash. Kelsy  made a stop in San Francisco for her Pink Kink & Punk Tour at the Brick and Mortar Music Hall. This was definitely one concert that I won’t soon forget. The bar has been set high as Kelsy and her band truly delivered a flawless high energy set that had us knee deep in awe and craving more. We first heard Kelsy Karter with her single Out of Drugs in 2017 and have been hooked ever since. Over the years, we have continued to be held captive by her emotionally driven and soul baring vocals. But to finally catch her live performance takes it to a whole new level. The crowd at the Brick and Mortar were completely engulfed in her energy as she shared stories about her music and gave 150% on each song. Nothing was left unsaid or unsung as she gave everyone [Read More]

Chat with Kelsy Karter as she embarks on her headlining tour, Pink, Kink & Punk!

April 11, 2022

Last night was our return to the music scene as Covid brought everything to a halt back in March 2020. Something I will always remember is the last show I saw before Covid hit (Dirty Honey at Slim’s) and my first concert back. Kelsy Karter made a stop in San Francisco for her headlining tour, Pink, Kink and Punk! It was an absolute stellar night that has set the bar extremely high for shows to follow. Stay tuned as we will be bringing you a full concert review and photo gallery later this week. For now check out our interview with Kelsy: * * * * * * Thank you very much Kelsy for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music Junkie Press.
