Aftershock Festival Spotlight on Nothing More

September 10, 2013

Our Aftershock Spotlight is on an incredible band, Nothing More. Nothing More is from San Antonio, Texas and New Orleans, LA. This bad ass band definitely has everyone taking a good look at them. They are bringing a new life to alternative rock/progressive that actually has them challenging genres and sounds. Their unique sound has many turning heads and people wanting to know more about Nothing More. We had the opportunity to talk with Jonny Hawkins – lead vocalist and Daniel Oliver – bassist for the band. I will tell you that they both also perform secondary percussions for the band at times during their shows. You  may wonder what I mean but if you ever had the incredible opportunity to watch Nothing More you would know exactly what I was talking about. They put on a four guy percussion performance on their incredible solos that will leave you in awe!  It is a show within a show that can rival any Vegas act with their Rock n Roll Cirque du Solei on drums.  Check [Read More]

Tonight Alive is our Tuesdays Travels Pick of the Week

September 10, 2013

This Tuesday we are excited to tell you about Tonight Alive which is an Australian band that really garnered attention when they debuted their “What Are you Scared Of?” only two years ago. Well they are back and on the rise one again. Today marks the release of their new album, “The Other Side” which is available at iTunes or get some cool bundle packages at  MerchNow & Fearless Records or head over to your local national and indie retailers. To celebrate their release, the band is streaming the new album with track by track commentary of the band’s vocalist Jenna McDougall. She has such a passionate voice and it is refreshing to hear what she has to say about each song. You can check it out here: One of my favorite songs so far is Lonely Girl that I have had on replay for most of the day! They are going to be heading back to the States to play several shows supporting You Me at Six. Soon they will be announcing the dates as they headline “The Other Side Tour”. [Read More]

SOiL’s new album, WHOLE is a hard rock gem!

September 9, 2013

SOiL has recently released their sixth studio album, “Whole” and also marks the return of the band’s original singer, Ryan McCombs who sang with Drowning Pool for 5 years.  It is amazing when you check out this latest album. It has all the energy and intensity which is is the reason I first fell in love with SOiL many years ago!   You can pick up your copy here. The album starts right off with hard rock edgy guitars in Loaded Gun and the adrenaline filled rock continues through each song. I love the bad ass bass lines in “Ugly” and you really appreciate the return of Ryan’s vocals in  “Way Gone“. Another amazing song is “Shine On” which is dedicated to the SOiL fans for standing by the band throughout the years.  They currently have a video out for their single, “Shine On” and you can check it out here: The album continues on with the intensity and delivering their classic original SOiL sounds as in Wake Up and Amagalmation. SOiL is definitely WHOLE again as you can [Read More]

Lzzy Hale and Tom Keifer perform “Nobody’s Fool”

September 7, 2013

Growing up in the 70’s/80’s, I listened to a LOT of ROCK n ROLL. One of my favorite bands from the 80’s was the Philadelphia based blues rock band CINDERELLA. I went to many of their concerts to just to hear the raspy, distinctive gritty voice of Tom Keifer. His vocals were incredible and always drew me to their music.  Tom had suffered some nodules on his vocal chords and at one time, left him unsure if we was going to ever be able to sing again.  Tom has succeeded in treating his issues with his vocal chords and continues to amaze us with his powerful and amazing voice. Earlier this year, Tom released his solo record, The Way Life Goes on Merovee Records (through WMG ILG) and went out on the first part of his tour in support of the album. Tom has two singles out from this spectacular album, Solid Ground and The Flower Song.  We recently brought you our interview with Tom Keifer here where you can find out more about Tom and [Read More]
