Time for San Francisco to listen and “All Hail The Yeti”!

November 29, 2013

This week was an awesome one for music!  On Tuesday we went to San Francisco for the Hell Pop Tour 1 with In This Moment, Motionless In White, Kyng and All Hail The Yeti! It was a great night. It was the first time for us seeing All Hail The Yeti and boy they didn’t disappoint for that first time experience. They came straight out and just bled their energy and soul out on that stage. They played songs from their self titled album and the crowd thoroughly loved it! One of my favorite songs is The Art of Mourning and you can check out a tribute video that Rockin Ryan put together with footage and photos from their San Francisco show here:   It is amazing to see that this hard working band,  with lineup changes and starting back in 2006 is finally getting the recognition they so very well deserve. “We’ve managed to prevail through all the bullshit,” says frontman Connor Garritty. “I have seen too many great metal bands die here. We had to [Read More]

French Metal band DAGOBA takes over San Francisco!

November 26, 2013

WOW! I know I told you about DAGOBA coming to San Francisco to open up for returning metal band, Dir En Grey but you can’t believe how awesome they were!  I have been looking forward to seeing DAGOBA live since we have been playing a lot of their heavy songs from their latest album, LP “Post Mortem Nihil Est.” It was recently released here in the US only a couple weeks ago and on Sunday night they came to The Regency Ballroom on the Ghoul 2013 Tour with Dir En Grey.  We had the opportunity to interview Shawter, composer and singer for DAGOBA and here is that interview:   They really came out and put on an amazing show. They have excellent stage presence and this was their first time playing in San Francisco. Dir En Grey has a very tight following and it was awesome to see how DAGOBA won over the crowd.  They even got them to do the Wall of Death, Mosh pits, Circle pits and more. The energy was fierce and their [Read More]

Steel Panther highlights from San Francisco show!

November 21, 2013

Steel Panther on a Friday night? What better way to PARTY!! On November 8th, Steel Panther returned to the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco for another solid performance to a packed house.  They had two excellent opening bands, Hillbilly Herald and SpiralArms. Make sure to check out their write ups as well. When Steel Panther performs, it is always an amazing show. I know a lot of people think of them as only a heavy metal parody band, but you can’t ignore that these four guys are extremely talented musicians and can rival many metal bands out today with their talent. They make everyone miss the ’80s! You have the kick ass guitar riffs by Satchel, killer bass by Lexxi, solid drumming by Stix and the full on 80’s rockstar vocals by Michael.   You can check out a tribute video by Rockin Ryan which has footage and photos from their SF show:   Now in case you missed it, they recently released their video for their new song, “Party Like Tomorrow Is The End Of [Read More]

The Broken Ravens from Scotland are our Tuesdays Travels Pick of the Week!

November 19, 2013

A great new rock band from the Stornoway from Isle of Lewis, Scotland called The Broken Ravens are our Tuesdays Travels Pick of the Week for Music from around the world!  You are really going to love this band, they remind me of a mix of Black Sabbath with Soundgarden. The Broken Ravens are Kevin Clark on Drums, Lotto Ferguson on Bass/Vocals, Calum ‘Thrash’ Macaulay on Guitar/Vocals and Bugsy Maclean on Guitar/Vocals. What is great about this band is that they each have very diverse musical influences and together they have created their own unique sound which has to be heard! We asked Kevin if they could name three of their biggest influences and here is what he told us, “As all our influences are so diverse, we nearly ended up in a big fight over choosing just three , but, after a struggle, we managed to get it down to 4. Our main inspirations are Slayer, Black Sabbath, Elmore James and Anathema”. The band has been working hard on putting the final touches on their debut album. Kevin [Read More]
