Last night, San Francisco’s Regency Ballroom was transformed into a place of pure musical electricity as Midnight Til Morning delivered a breathtaking, stellar performance. The group born from the Netflix series Building the Band, has a uniquely modern origin story: musicians forming a band without ever seeing one another, focusing entirely on chemistry, creativity, and instinct rather than appearances. What emerged from that experiment was a remarkably cohesive and charismatic Australian/American boy band featuring Shane Appell, Zach Newbould, Conor Smith and Mason Watts, a group whose artistry has expanded far beyond what viewers witnessed on the show.
Opening the night was an unforgettable set by Adrian Lyles, whose passionate performance immediately won over the crowd. His presence was magnetic, his vocals smooth, and his connection with the audience undeniable, earning him cheers from both longtime supporters and brand-new fans swept up in the moment.
When Midnight Til Morning finally took the stage, the venue erupted. The set began with audio clips of the members reflecting on their love of music and the journey that brought them here, a touching prelude that amplified the anticipation already buzzing through the crowd. Fans held up signs, wore red dresses, fan made shirts, and packed the venue with an energy that spanned generations. The devotion in the room was unmistakable, and when the guys walked out, the roar was deafening.
Each member shone individually: distinct vocal textures, personal styles, and emotional nuances that defined their artistry. But the true magic happened when their voices blended, it became seamless, powerful, and beautifully balanced. Their harmony felt like the band’s mission in physical form: different pieces aligning to become something bigger than themselves.
The setlist ran through tracks from their Afterglow EP, a handful of unreleased songs that left the crowd hungry for more, and several standout covers that showcased their versatility. Throughout the night, the group’s stage presence was confident but never arrogant, they remained charismatic, engaging, and infused with a kind of open-hearted joy that pulled the entire room into their orbit.

As the final show of their U.S. tour before they head off to Australia for an overseas run, the night felt monumental. The crowd’s reaction, the thunderous screams, nonstop applause, and pure adoration truly made it clear that Midnight Til Morning is on a steep upward climb. Larger venues are surely in their near future; their momentum is simply too big to contain. Check out photos by our Rockin Ryan:
What truly set the night apart, though, came after the last song. Rather than disappearing backstage, the members stayed to meet fans, sign posters and shirts, hand out setlists, share hugs, and thank people personally. Their humility and gratitude were as genuine as their talent, qualities that make it easy to root for them and even easier to fall in love with the music.
From the first note to the final thank-you, the night was nothing short of spectacular. Midnight Til Morning is a band to watch, cherish, and support, and if you haven’t listened to them yet, now is the perfect time. Add them to your playlist; you’ll be singing along before you know it.
