Outside Lands celebrates Tenth Anniversary with weekend of stellar performances!

Outside Lands celebrated it’s Tenth Anniversary this past weekend and it was quite a celebration for the Bay Area. It was three days of Music, Food, Wine, Beer, Art and Comedy and it went off without a hitch. Check out the lineup that was featured this year:

Upon arrival, concert-goers were greeted to the festival and provided maps to the extensive grounds featuring several music stages, comedy, cooking and more. Most fans were kept up to date with the useful Mobile App that had everything you needed to know about Outside Lands 2017.

In addition to the music, there was amazing art to be enjoyed throughout the festival grounds, Food that featured a variety of tastes from around the Bay, an array of fabulous wines at Wine Lands and impressive selection of brews at Beer Lands. There was something for everything at the festival and the variety of musical selections was endless. The lineups featured crowds of both young and old, as everyone stood in appreciate for the selection of great music available.

One thing about enjoying the festival is taking in all the beauty that Golden Gate Park has to offer. To insure the preservation of the grounds, Outside Lands had an excellent waste diversion with recycling stations, compostable cups, plates, utensils, etc, and Clean Vibes Trash Talkers to assist patrons. In addition was the feature of an impressive ECO LANDS near the Panhandle Stage. “Eco Lands’ message radiates throughout the entire festival and continues to provide an educational forum for sustainability showcasing local community organizations, national NGO’s, a farmer’s market and a refillable water station. ”

We featured our Top Ten Bands to check out and every one exceeded our expectations. From Friday’s performances by Tove Lo, Porches, Gorillaz and Alt-J to Saturday’s spine tingling performances by Cage the Elephant, Metallica and The Lemon Twigs, to enjoying the first time performances for us of Warpaint, Muna, and Real Estate, we were in awe of all the amazing performances.

Sunday came quick and it featured a non-stop lineup of awesomeness. Mon Laferte and The She’s kicked off the day with magical sets.  Bleachers was one of our favorite must-see bands and they blew us away. The afternoon continued with spotlight sets by Young the Giant and Lorde.  Our most impressive set of the festival would undoubtedly be The Who. An iconic band that delivered a spot on, flawless legendary performance. With the Golden Gate fog capturing the magic of their music, it created a moment in time that would not be forgotten. From the first note I got chills, I was whisked away to my youth, listening to my sibling’s 8-track in the early 70’s. When I looked around, I could see the crowd filled with generations of fans. You had those seasoned fans who have loved The Who for decades and were being transcended to youthful memories. Then you could see the magic in the eyes of the youth whom were experiencing The Who for the first time. It was pure magic for all of us and a true treasured memory in the making. Check out a sneak peek of our photos from the festival and stay tuned for more!

In addition to all the great music, food, and entertainment, we have to give a great big shout-out to the dedicated and amazing fans, who would arrive early and make sure to check out all the great bands, even those they were unfamiliar with. They consistently had a great time and for reciprocating the contagious energy that the artists brought to the stages.

Stay tuned as we feature many of the exciting sets of Outside Lands 2017! You can watch clips and highlights from Outside Lands 2017 by heading over to https://www.go90.com/shows/outsidelands2017.  Is it too early to start counting down to next year? I think not!
