Goo Goo Dolls John Rzeznik surprises couple at their wedding.

A couple recently had a surprise of a lifetime. John Rzeznik, lead singer of the Goo Goo Dolls surprised the couple at their wedding. Rzeznik, guitar in hand, appeared on stage at the couple’s reception to perform an acoustic version of their classic hit “Iris” for the newlyweds’ first dance.  Watch the video below:

What an amazing and emotional performance. It takes me back to our recent coverage of the Goo Goo Dolls at the Shoreline Amphitheater. We were there to cover the first night of their Long Way Home Summer Tour. In case you missed it, check out our review below:

The Goo Goo Dolls Shoreline show was AMAZING last night! John Rzeznik and Robby Takac kicked off their Long Way Home Summer Tour with a stellar performance in Mountain View, CA. Their headline tour will take them across the country and run through mid-September. Their final show is at the Greek Theatre, Los Angeles. The tour features opening act Phillip Phillips who got the crowd off their feet.

In May, the Goo Goo Dolls released their You Should Be Happy EP, and we have been hooked on the new track “Use Me”. The show last night featured over 20+ songs on a setlist that pleased longtime fans and well as new ones. Song after song, the crowd erupted in cheers after each song played. The emotions bled through their music and captivated the crowd. You could feel the personal connection from each Goo Goo Dolls song.

Every listener was taken on a Goo Goo Dolls musical journey of their own. Fans were singing along and dancing non-stop. With the exceptional delivery, you would not have known it was the first night of the Long Way Home Summer tour. The Dolls sound was spot on and the band was flawless.
