Empires is our Bottle Rock Napa 2014 Featured Band of the Day

Today our Bottle Rock Napa Featured Band is Empires. From the first time I listened to Empires, I was taken back to the nightlife of the ’90s as I would go club hopping and enjoy grunge, alternative, and mod.  It was a time for you to feel the music and literally have it take over you. Empires are an Indie Alternative band from Chicago that do just that. You can’t help but listen to them and be “in the moment”. Fantastic songwriting, blended with grunge vibes, alternative style, and stirring vocals make this band have the winning combination Empires was formed in 2008 and have successfully two full-length albums, two EPs, and one 7″ single. You may not be familiar with the name Tyson Leslie but I am sure you have heard him play or seen him  perform live. He has played alongside the likes of Corey Taylor, (Slipknot, Stone Sour), Gavin DeGraw, Carmine Appice (Rod Stewart, Vanilla Fudge, etc), George Lynch (Dokken, Lynch Mob) and as a temporary member of Red Line Chemistry (touring with Whitesnake). It is Monday, the most dreaded day of the week for some, whether it means going back to work, school or just having to face responsibilities. What you need is the perfect pick me up to get your week started off right. You need some Crobot!  Crobot is Brandon Yeagley on Lead Vocals and  Harp, Bishop on Guitar and Vocals, Jake Figueroa on Bass and Paul Figueroa – Drums. UPON THIS DAWNING will be headlining The Artery Foundation Tour Across the Nation!

Upon this Dawning first announced that they finished their new album and then gave us the great news earlier this week that they have signed with Artery Recordings. Today they announced some more exciting news! Upon this Dawning will be headlining The Artery Foundation Across the Nation Tour with  The Browning, Adestria, Phinehas & Dayseeker. The tour kicks off on April 18th in San Diego, California at the House of Blues. It is set to be an awesome tour and we can’t wait to catch them when they head through Sacramento. Also mark your calendars for next Monday, February 17th when Upon This Dawning will release their new single, “OBEY”. You can head over to their Facebook page for more details. The NAMM-Over Begins

Well, here we are on the Monday after NAMM 2014. What a great week it was for Musicians. The trade industry convention, NAMM brought in an estimated 100,000 to the Anaheim Convention where dealers, musicians and gear heads could check out the latest and greatest in the music technology and products. Music Junkie Press was there and it was a wild week. We just got back home tonight and this week will be putting together all of our NAMM coverage, highlights, concert reviews, photographs, and much more.
