Stadium worthy performance by Moon Walker at Brick & Mortar

June 27, 2023

Alt rocker Moon Walker was formed by Harry Springer during the height of Covid-19 and what a gift it has been. They recently made a stop on the summer tour in San Francisco at the Brick & Mortar. The tour brought a fiercely powerful set by Annabel Lee that had the crowd all warmed up. Moon Walker hit the stage and the performance was spot on and captivating.  Springer is an intensely talented guitarist as well as an impressive frontman who invigorates the audience. The band featured thundering drums by Sean McCarthy and slapping bass by Alicia Vigil (the first time we saw her perform was with She Demons and she has been one of our favorite bassists ever since). The three brought together a powerful sound that was stadium worthy and you knew that catching them in such an intimate environment such as the Brick & Mortar was going to be a core music memory as they are heading up the top! Joining Moon Walker on their summer tour is Annabel Lee. The Los Angeles based alt-rocker gave a fierce performance on Saturday night in San Francisco at the Brick & Mortar.  Being such an intimate venue allowed for an infectiously energetic set that had the crowd in awe. Annabel delivers such powerful vocals that you are drawn to her energy and you can’t help to reciprocate with cheers and applause. Check out photos from her set by our Rockin Ryan: Annabel Lee released her debut album Mother’s Hammer in March. You can pick up the album HERE.   In addition, we picked up some merch of cool shirts. I can’t say it enough, when you head out to enjoy live music and love the set, pick up some merch from the them.  It is the best way to support a band and you will end up with a closet full of great memories of concerts past. Loveless dominates stage at August Hall for last night of US tour

June 24, 2023

It was the last night of the US dates for  Loveless World Tour and it ended in San Francisco at the August Hall. It featured openers Honey Revenge and you can check out their photos here. The crowd were ready and amped up for the show as Loveless took the stage to eruptions of cheer and screams and they kicked it off with Haunting Me. The party started and didn’t stop until the band left the stage.  Being the last night of tour, the crew had some fun with the band as they had given playful and different set lists to each member. I tell you, I would have loved to see them play Bodies by Drowning Pool. They would have killed it. The crowd went wild when they played their 2020 debut single Better.  It was non-stop fun  and a spirited set that intensified the adrenaline with each song with a minor break during Killing Time. The band had to stop the song due to a fight in the crowd. We actually [Read More]

June 24, 2023

Honey Revenge might have got their start on TikTok but it is their live shows that will keep them on the minds and playlists of music fans.  On Friday they opened up for Loveless and it was the last night of tour so each band gave it 150%.  Honey Revenge brought out a fun and energetic set that had the crowd non-stop dancing and singing along.  The energy was infectious, the songs catchy and relatable and the performance lively and entertaining. Check out photos of their set by our Rockin Ryan: It was also release day for them as their album Retrovision which captures their live set perfectly. Temples returns to San Francisco for a stop at Great American Music Hall

June 23, 2023

Thursday night at Great American Music Hall in San Francisco had a fantastic lineup featuring Temples on their headlining tour in support of their new album, Exotico. The night kicked off with Post Animal with a spectacular psychedelic progressive rock set. You can check out our photo gallery here. Temples was up next and I glanced around the audience and it was warming to see such a diverse crowd, all there for the pure love of music.  Temples delivered an eclectic and electrifying set. The confidence and precision playing of their psych-rock created a flow through their songs that held the crowd captive. Each song ended with an eruption of applause as if they were receiving a much needed dose of mental healing. The 60’s/70’s inspired vibe was infectious as you felt yourself drifting away  to immerse yourself in a nostalgic realm.  It was rewarding to look around the venue and see only a handful of phones in the air. You could tell the crowd wanted to fully drink in the magical elixer of  a [Read More]

The Dirty Nil takeover The Independent in San Francisco for stellar performance

June 22, 2023

Tuesday night we headed to the Independent in San Francisco to catch the co-headlining tour of The Dirty Nil and Daniel Romano’s Outfit, along with opener Wander. The Dirty Nil had released their album Free Rein to Passions and San Francisco was one of the last few stops of their US/Canada tour.  We arrived early and caught the local opener Wander and they gave us a fierce instrumental rock set.  Daniel Romano’s Outfit blew us away with their fun and engaging set. The crowd was ready to rock as The Dirty Nil took the stage. The energy in the room ramped up even more as the trio kicked off their set with adrenaline blazing. They were incredible! They reminded me of another trio that was my favorite band in the 90’s Material Issue. If you know, you know.  This Canadian rock band gave it there all and then some. What I really move about them, is that you can’t place them into one single genre or style of music. They bring it all, rock, punk, pop, [Read More]
