Halestorm coming to San Francisco!

September 9, 2012

It is a great day today! I got my tickets to see one of my favorite bands, Halestorm at one of my favorite venues in San Francisco, Slim’s!! I just found out that Halestorm is returning to the San Francisco Bay Area. I am so glad because I have been trying to see Halestorm live for a few years now. First I was supposed to see them in SoCal and my trip got cancelled then they were coming to the Bay Area last year and that show got cancelled. The funny thing is that I have had the great opportunity of meeting them several times at other shows.  They are an awesome bunch of individuals! The first being when they played with Corey Taylor at his Las Vegas Hard Rock Show in 2010 and then again at his 2011 show. Then they came to San Francisco and I ended up in Las Vegas covering another show!! I was so mad.  We got to meet them again at the NAMM 2011 and NAMM 2012 shows and [Read More]

Guns N Roses welcome you to Paradise (Sin) City

August 14, 2012

We all know about how successful Motley Crue’s residency shows at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas were earlier this year. They had performed 12 incredible shows and we all were waiting for them to return. Well, it has just been announced that the Hard Rock Hotel will be housing another incredible 80’s Rock band for a residency later this year. Guns n Roses announced on their website yesterday that they will be taking up residency at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas with shows starting on Halloween (Oct. 31st) and conclude November 24th. Their residency is aptly titled “Appetite for Democracy”. I know how so many people have been waiting and waiting for a return of the original lineup but as we all know; you have better chances of winning the lottery! I know many fans have stated how they wouldn’t go see GnR unless it was an original lineup and I don’t feel that way. Guns N Roses was a big part of my growing up. Their music was my therapy during [Read More]

Smile Empty Soul and their new release 3’s

May 22, 2012

Today was the big day that I have been waiting for. The release date for Smile Empty Soul’s 3’s! I got to see Smile Empty Soul earlier this month at the Boardwalk in a small town outside of Sacramento for their Jagermesiter tour. That night was a long one with a six band lineup and we of course counted the minutes and waited for Smile Empty Soul to take the stage. They came out and right off had their die hard fans singing to “Don’t Ever Leave”. Then they played the single of their new album aptly titled 3’s, “Afterlife”. “Afterlife” has been receiving great airplay on XM Sirius Octane Channel and I am hoping with our help it will make it to the Big Uns Countdown soon. Well that night they had a pre-order available for their new album 3’s and I was of course rasing up front to buy it. So I waited and waited and then it came; that great little note in my INBOX letting me know that my Pre-Order of [Read More]

Train makes a great stop in San Francisco.

April 16, 2012

The San Francisco band Train came back to their hometown and made a welcome stop.  Train made a 5 day stop in San Francisco starting with their show on April 11th at Great American Music Hall, Bimbo’s on the 12th, Slim’s on the 13th, Independent on the 14th and finishing it off at the historical Fillmore on the 15th. Since I was at the Golden Gods Awards most of last week, I had the pleasure of enjoying their final show at the Fillmore. We got there around 5:30 and were not surprised to see a line that had formed since 9 am earlier that morning. The one thing Train is known for is having very dedicated fans!  We got in around 7:30 and got to enjoy a great local band; Finish Ticket. I will have my own review of them in the coming days. They were great! At right around 9 pm, Train came on to perform “We were Made for This”. I knew right off that it was going to be another stellar performance [Read More]

AM TAXI – Slim’s April 29, 2010

May 5, 2010

AM Taxi show was held at one of my SF favorite venues; Slim’s. AM TAXI was one of the opening bands for the Spill Canvas. Additional opening bands were New Politics and Tyler Hilton. I was very excited to see AM TAXI since for the past few weeks I have been listening to a couple of their songs through their myspace page and really liked what I heard so far. AM TAXI hails from Chicago and is made of 5 very energetic and talented guys. Adam Krier-vocals and guitar, Jason Schultejann-bass, Chris Smith-drums and backups, John Schmitt-guitar and backups, Luke Schmitt-keyboard and backups. Their set list is as follows: Dead Street Paper Covers Rock Fed UP Charissa Woodpecker Shake, Rattle and Stall Paint It Black Mistake Prior to starting it seemed that not many people were familiar with their music and were just waiting for the Spill Canvas to go onstage. Most of the audience was just mulling around the long L-shaped bar and mingling. As soon as AM TAXI peformed the first song; it [Read More]

Puddle of Mudd, Burn Halo and the Veer Union – April 5, 2010

April 7, 2010

We went to see Puddle of Mudd in San Francisco and found out they were playing at one of my old stomping grounds; Slims. If you haven’t read it yet, my previous post covers Slim’s and what a great place it is! The tickets for the show were only $25 and was a great deal since we found out that there would be two opening acts! $25 for three bands. The kids (my son Ryan and his friend, Javier) were really excited about that since they are soon building their history of bands they have seen in concert. When we got there, of course the boys went straight to the merchandise tables and Ryan rushed to buy the autographed drum head to add to his growing collection! They were even more amazed when they found the band members of the opening band selling the merchandise. They took no time to ask them to autograph the CDs and the posters! First up was The Veer Union. This band comes from Vancouver, Canada and consists of five [Read More]
