Sworn In delivers a KICK ASS set on the Monster Energy Outbreak Rock Tour

November 29, 2014

We were glad we braved the 4 hour traffic filled trek to Sacramento last night to catch the Monster Energy Outbreak Rock Tour. After sitting in traffic for so long, it was great to arrive at the Ace of Spades for a night of heavy music to release all that pent up frustration! The night started right off with a fierce set by Sworn In from Chicago. Holy shit, these guys blew us away! This was the first time I heard of Sworn In and after just a few minutes of hitting the stage, I was converted from a newbie to an absolute die-hard lover. I am bummed that it has taken me so long to find out about this band, but I am now grateful. They have a ferociously heavy sound that brought the crowd to peak levels within minutes of starting.  I am not going to do them the injustice of trying to describe them as a certain genre or sub-genre, they are just pure energy heavy rock with metal influences that you [Read More]

Update on We Are Harlot from Jeff George about the new album, his knee, and their Aftershock set!

October 12, 2014

We Are Harlot made their live debut this summer at Rock on the Range and followed up with another kick ass set at Rocklahoma. Did you know that they even set a record for attendance at a band’s first show? Yup, these guys are making history and deservedly so. After playing a show in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel with The Pretty Reckless, it was finally our turn to check out We are Harlot live at Aftershock Festival 2014. Thousands of fans were there as their Harlot cherry was popped with an unforgettable killer set by We Are Harlot. This is a band with years in the making and they have created such a buzz over the past year as everyone is anticipation of their debut album. Earlier this summer, they released their first single, DENIAL and the Harlot frenzy began. The downloads topped over 100,000 downloads in probably the first week, everyone was talking about, it hit the radio and you knew, that nothing could stop the We Are Harlot world domination of [Read More]

Interview with Young Guns as the kicked ass at Aftershock Festival

October 5, 2014

One of our featured Monster Energy Aftershock Bands was Young Guns. The London based rockers have been consistently grabbing everyone’s attention. We were very excited to see them performing at this year’s Aftershock Festival. They were amazing, they came out blazing with energy and got everyone revved up. I have been loving their most recent single, I Want Out which shot to No. 1 on the Tunes Rock Chart in the UK. Check out  a video for it: The track is the first song from their upcoming new album which is set for a 2015 release and was recorded in Bath, England, produced by Steve Osborne (Joy Division, U2, Peter Gabriel) and mixed by Damian Taylor (Arcade Fire, Bjork, The Killers) Band Members: Gustav Wood – Vocals John Taylor – Guitar Fraser Taylor – Guitar Simon Mitchell – Bass Ben Jolliffe – Drums We had the chance to chat with Ben Jolliffe, Simon Mitchell and John Taylor after their set. Check out the interview here: Check out the photos of them during their set at Aftershock by our Rockin [Read More]

Nothing More releases video for Mr. MTV and see them out on tour now!

September 21, 2014

Nothing More have released a new music video and this time it is for my FAVORITE song of theirs, Mr. MTV. This is one powerful track that has some very thought provoking lyrics. The first time I heard them play this was last year when we saw them perform at Aftershock 2013. They blew us away and this year, they did it again. Check out the new video here: This is one band that exceeds all your expectations with their live performances. From their three man bass solo and their full band percussion performance, everyone is left in awe of their over the top stage presence. They are currently out on tour with Five Finger Death Punch, Volbeat and Hellyeah. Definitely a must see tour. Black Label Society dominated Aftershock with their stellar set

September 20, 2014

Aftershock Festival truly was filled with so many great bands but one set that really stood out was the performance by Black Label Society. It is hard at festivals since you could have several bands playing at the same time but Black Label Society dominated the crowd. Their crowd was filled with both, longtime and new Berzerkers of all ages. Nothing stopped the dedicated fans as they braved the intense 100+ temps to bear witness to the shredding madness of Zakk and his crew. The set was stellar and the fans went wild, begging for more. If one thing I wanted, was a longer set since I could have watched them all day long! Check out the photos by our Rockin Ryan of the set: If you weren’t able to make it to Aftershock, don’t worry, Black Label Society have been quite busy on some heavy duty touring and it will start again in October. Check the dates and make sure to not miss them if they are coming to a venue even remotely [Read More]

Quick peek at our Aftershock Festival 2014 coverage

September 18, 2014

Aftershock Festival 2014 was a great success. The show went off beautifully. Yes, the heat might have been unbearable and with the drought this year, we had to endure a lot more dust but the music kicked ass from start to finish. This is definitely California’s Number One Music Festival and we are already looking forward to next year. Bay Area band Dig The Kid kicked off the entire festival and Godsmack closed it out on Sunday night. Every single set was awesome and just proves to the naysayers that Rock n Roll is Alive and Well! So many great bands, interviews and photo galleries coming your way soon. I know many of you can’t wait so how about I give you a quick tease of several of the bands we covered. We are still working, so if you don’t see your favorite band, don’t worry, we may have them in the next batch! All photos are by our Rockin Ryan which you can follow on his Instagram/RockinRyanSixx as well as Twitter.com/rockinryan :     In case [Read More]
