Check out The Mighty Swine and their new video for Last Man Standing

April 29, 2014

The Mighty Swine is a progressive melodic metal band that I hope you are already familiar with. If not, please allow me to introduce you to your new favorite metal band.  The Mighty Swine from Cincinnati, Ohio deliver metal the way it is meant to be, full on shredding guitars, fierce bass lines, heavy hitting drums and powerful vocals on lyrical hooks that feed your need for good music! The Mighty Swine features Cincinnati legend, Mike Skimmerhorn (CHASTAIN/CJSS) on Vocals / Bass, Stacey Donahue and Jeff Tong on Guitar, and Rory Faciane on Drums. They have just released their video for their new song, Last Man Standing.  The video was shot and directed by Nikk Hearn-Sutton (RUSH – Time Machine DVD) Last Man Standing is a politically charged modern social commentary on the ever increasing police state tactics used by the American Government against it’s own people ala: the Clive Bundy standoff. A radical change from the party hard content of previous releases, The Mighty Swine are a different animal on this release.  Check out the video here:   The song is the title [Read More]

Fierce rock band, Forever Still from Denmark releases video for The Last Day

April 18, 2014

Hailing from Copenhagen, Demark is Forever Still and these fierce rockers are ready to take over the music scene with their female fronted rock band. In a time when the music scene is suffering such an identity crisis and people are busy placing labels and genres on a band’s music, along comes along Forever Still and is breaking the mold of Rock and Roll. Their intense sound can take you from catchy melodies, passionate vocals to smoldering guitars and energetic drumming. The stunning vocals of Maja brings such intensity to their songs, she has quite a vocal range and is spectacular at creating the connection to the listener. Forever Still is Maja Schønning, Mikkel Haastrup, Chad T. Charlton and Carsten Christensen and they have been causing quite a buzz out in Denmark and now it is time for the rest of the world to fall in love with them.  They have recently released their 4 song EP Breaking Free. You can purchase the album on their Bandcamp page and I would strongly encourage it since I am getting quite hooked [Read More]

Top Twenty Music Videos from 1982

August 1, 2013

1982… For me… what a year… Freshman/Sophmore year at the all girls Catholic School Notre Dame in Belmont, California. I begged to go to the local public school after going to private uniform schools for the past 8 years but no luck…. So the best part is I remember we had MTV. We had just got it and I was glued to it the fist couple weekends that we had it. I remember we were vacationing at the house we rented every summer in Lake Tahoe and we got up there and they had the MTV channel. My whole world changed!! It happened to be the weekend where they spent most of it broadcasting Todd Rundgren Utopia concert but I got enough music videos to beg my Father to get it for us when we got back. Upon returning, our area was the new recipients of MTV and it gave me all the entertainment that I needed.  So here is my Top Twenty Music Videos from 1982. 20. Eye of the Tiger – Survivor 19. A Story Beneath releases new video for “All in My Head”

August 1, 2013

One of my favorite bands that I told you about in a post back in May  that includes an interview with Phil Goff, has recently released a video for their kick ass song, “All in  My Head” which is from their new EP Beneath the Skin, and you can check it out here: A Story Beneath is an incredible band from Santa Clarita, California. Phil Goff is on Guitar and Vocals, Toddy Libby on Bass and Keys, and Markus Flick on drums. These three guys come together with driving rhythms, melodic chords blended with some powerful rock reminiscent of Silverchair, early Tool and Incubus but they definitely have a sound of their own.  Once you start listening to them, believe me, you might not stop. I told you about one of my Go To songs which is  “Chamelion”. This song just gets up in me and has me revived in an instant.  You can get their new EP right on CDBaby here. So make sure to check them on their social media sites and check out their new [Read More]
