Dellacoma Rio releases his first debut single “Dead Will Rise”

December 15, 2013

Earlier this year, I told you about an awesome band that I fell in love with from Australia, Sunset Riot. You can read that post here.  They really caught my eye and couldn’t wait to hear more from them. Of course, I learned about them a little too late since they did disband later in the year. I was excited to hear that singer Dellacoma Rio was still pursing his passion for music in the aftermath of Sunset Riot’s disbanding. Dellacoma has such an amazingly unique voice that draws you in to his musical world.  Dellacoma has recently released his lyric video for his debut single, “Dead Will Rise” and you can check it out here:   Dellacoma explains more about the song, “Dead Will Rise”,  “The song is pretty much an anthem for those who feel like they’ve been written off. Coming off the back of Sunset Riots breakup I felt like a lot of people were expecting that my career was finished musically, that I was effectively dead as an artist. I guess [Read More]

14 Bands that will rule 2014

Countdown of 14 bands that will rule 2014! #10 goes to Beware of Darkness

December 15, 2013

Here we are at the #10 spot, counting down the 14 bands that we think will rule 2014. Today for hot spot Number 10, we bring you Beware of Darkness. This band just exploded on to the scene this year and there is definitely no slowing them down.  Beware of Darkness was formed in 2010 by singer/guitarist Kyle Nicolaides and drummer Tony Cupito. They added bassist Daniel Curcio and they became a well rounded powerful trio. In 2013, they released their debut album Orthodox and their song Howl seemed to become one of everyone’s favorite new song including mine.  I remember the first time I heard it was when I was listening to the MusicChoice channel on cable. I was writing and the song came on, I almost stumbled out of my chair to race over and make sure I could find out what the song was. From that moment, many months ago,  we were pleased to hear it being played on Octane XM, Sixx Sense, radio and much more. You can pick up Orthodox on Itunes [Read More]

Day 7 of 12 Days of Bands You Have To Know goes to Tattooed Millionaires

December 15, 2013

Day 7 of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know goes to Tattooed Millionaires. Sometimes the path you first choose takes you to unexpected places with ups and downs along the way. You have a choice at that point…walk away or continue on your path that you were destined for. The latter is exactly what Johnny Jetson of Tattooed Millionaires chose. He walked the path that continued on with his great journey of music. Sometimes that path brings you to the crossroads where you have to choose and that time is now for Tattooed Millionaires. As Johnny Jetson explains, “When the band first started it was somewhat political… now I don’t give a fuck about politics we just want to rock the fuck out of people… in the beginning it was very image heavy now our music has caught up to the image… we are all about freedom to be who the fuck you want to be live life on your own terms and no one tells us what to do ever..” There is the [Read More]

Day 2 of Guitarists goes to Sid Glover of Heaven’s Basement

December 15, 2013

Today is Day 2 of our Guitarists and we are proud to bring you Sid Glover of Heaven’s Basement. Sid is a madman on his Gibson.  We saw Sid a couple times this year and he just doesn’t disappoint.  Heaven’s Basement quickly rose to fame in the States this year and we couldn’t wait to see Sid play live at Aftershock Festival in September. It was our first time seeing them and it was awesome to see them play the big Monster stage.  Read more about their Aftershock performance here. In October we had the opportunity to see Heavens Basement play a smaller venue  in San Francisco when they opened up for The Pretty Reckless. It was a packed house at Slim’s and it was a stellar evening that included Louna from Russia and the whole night was amazing! Here is a video interview we did with Sid and Aaron from Heaven’s Basement when they played in San Francisco.   Heaven’s Basement truly has an incredible electrifying stage presence. These four guys give a 150% [Read More]

Day 6 of 12 Days of Bands You Have To Know is for Switchblade Serenade

December 14, 2013

Today we are on our Day 6 of 12 Days of Bands You Have To Know and the honor goes to Switchblade Serenade. My son Rockin Ryan introduced me to them earlier this year. Every time he would play them, I would always about who is that band? I love them and their straight up rock n roll. As you know ’80s rock is finally making a comeback. I call it ’80s on replay style rock n roll.  Switchblade Serenade definitely are doing it right and delivering some great style ’80s rock but with an updated sound. They have the rocker look and the musical talent to back it up! Check out one of my favorite songs by them, Switchblade Susie here:   Switchblade Serenade is Austin Jaser on Guitar and Lead Vocals, Luke Barone on Drums and Vocals and Ed Mandevil on Bass and Vocals.  These three young guys bring a great big sound that you have to take notice of. They are from New Haven, CT and you can definitely feel their musical influences such as [Read More]

Day 1 of 12 Days of Guitarists goes to Jeff George of Harlot

December 14, 2013

Today we are starting our 12 Days of Guitarists and we are pleased to bring you the amazingly talented Jeff George as our Day 1! Jeff George was hand picked by Sebastian Bach to be his new guitarist in September 2012. He went on to play and tour with Sebastian until earlier this year when he directed his full attention to his new band Harlot.  You can read our interview with Jeff George as he explained more about how Harlot began here. Jeff not only is a blazin shredder on the guitar but he is also a talented composer, producer and songwriter.  He has everyone in excitement as to what Harlot has in store for us. I am excited to hear Jeff‘s shredding and his fierce solos on the Harlot album. He is spectacular and it is no surprise that we will select him as our first feature on our 12 Days of Guitarists.  We had a chance to catch up Jeff about his guitars and we are pleased to share it with you here: [Read More]
