PEAKS! release uplifting new track “Turin”

August 2, 2021

Hailing from Turin via London, PEAKS! are a modern Alt-Rock duo mixing, killer riffs, fuzzy guitars, and dizzy hooks – Eye(s) wide open. PEAKS! speak about feelings of Hope, Rage, Dreams, Sex, Money, Mental Health, Past, Future, Life, and all that’s in between. “Turin” is an unusual ode to their hometown which goes with a lot of dark feelings about letting go of toxic elements which otherwise would bring you down – especially letting go of fake friends who cling to you just in good times or when it’s beneficial for them. The ambivalence of the fluffy, energetic, almost uplifting sounds mixed with harsh emotions could be described as “feel-good pain”. It breathes a lot of sunshine from the 90s in a modern sound and production, but with dark clouds connected to it. It’s exactly in the middle of the song when the acoustic guitars turn into a sound of heavier electric guitars and [Read More]

Speaking on the new song the band said “Gloo’s aim has always been to help people escape, whilst at the same time evolving with each release we put out. This song for us does exactly that, but this time proudly showcasing our other inspirations with a slightly more laid-back cocktail whilst still giving you enough distortion to smash your glass when the chorus comes. “The writing of ‘Swimming In Your Sea’ was one of them rare and insane times where the song was written from start to finish in about half an hour! I (Tom) was actually kind of drifting in and out of a film and fucking around on the guitar playing the main riff from ‘Serve the Servants’ by Nirvana when I changed it out of boredom and suddenly my ear perked up with this new modified version I [Read More]
