Strange Talk from Australia set to play San Francisco Nov. 5th!

Strange Talk, eletropop band from Melbourne, Australia is coming to San Francisco next week! They will be performing at Brick & Mortar on November 5th, 2013. You can more details on tickets at their website. Strange Talk is set to release their self-produced debut album Cast Away in early 2014 via Wind-Up Records. They have their debut single, “Climbing Walls” is out on radio play now. These guys have a great new refreshing sound. They blend a bit of the eighties pop with a touch of 90’s electro and then wrapped into their own edgy style. NEW POLITICS announce their headlining tour “Harlem, USA Tour”

Just announced….. Our friends in one of our favorite bands, New Politics which we had the the opportunity to interview on the Uproar tour, have just announced their headlining tour for USA. These guys have been so busy and just keep going. From the first time I saw them in 2010 I called them the Energizer Bunny Meets Nirvana and here they are… like the energizer bunny… they keep going and going and going! They have had quite a year touring on the Uproar Festival, then they set out on Tour in support of Pink and then 30 Seconds to Mars. They are just on fire and this is truly a great year for them. Tori Vasquez and her amazing performance at the Fillmore

Last night we covered the Blue October SWAY tour show in San Francisco at the historic Fillmore. We were treated to an amazing performance by Tori Vasquez. We got to see Tori as she opened for Justin on his Open Book tour earlier this year. At that time, she did an acoustic performance and that was wonderful. Well, last night we had the honor of seeing Tori play with her band and it was spectacular. Her band definitely give out great energy. When Tori first steps out on stage, she reminded me of a young Linda Ronstadt and when she performs she brings out the Pat Benatar rockstar in her. She has quite a magnetic stage presence and along with her alluring voice, you can’t help but be drawn to her. New Politics set to join PINK on tour!!

Just announced….. Our friends in one of our favorite bands, New Politics which we had the the opportunity to catch and interview on the Uproar tour last week, have just announced they will be joining PINK on her arena tour in October. What a great opportunity for our friends in New Politics to show the world just how incredible they are live in concert. To imagine seeing them perform in an arena atmosphere just gets my heart pumping. New Politics just played the Zippo stage on the Uproar Tour and made a stop at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View on September 11th and they truly stole the show! BrainStorm (Prata Vetra) from Latvia is our Tuesdays Travel band to check out!

BrainStorm I am sure you thought it was getting late and I was not going to give you my Tusdays Travel band to check out…. Well I might be late due to recuperating from the car accident over the weekend but I didn’t want you to miss this band!! Straight from Jelgava, Latvia is a fun alternative rock band, BrainStorm (Latvian: Prāta Vētra) that you have to take a listen to. Definitely not a new band. This band is a strong group of friends who had a dream to play music and in 1989 set out to conquer the hearts of music lovers. Their music which has sounds reminiscent of Parlotones, ColdPlay, even U2, but yet they have something so new and fresh to them that I just can’t put my finger on. They have catchy melody fused with passionate vocals and an energetic sound that becomes infectious. Music is always the master of my emotions. If I am feeling down and need to vent, I can always turn to music to help me through the process. Or if I am feeling good and need music to just energize me and complement my good mood, I put the right songs on to do that. Well, today I was in one of those where I am literally in a doldrum type of state and went to do some work. I put on some of the music that was given to me to check out and I have to tell you…. it was like magic… My energy level quickly rose, I couldn’t help but smile and instantly feel good.
