New video/song from Anthony Green reminds us all that You’ll be Fine

July 13, 2016

Anthony Green has just released the first track off his upcoming album, Pixie Queen which is set for a September 9th release. The song, You’ll be Fine is a very special song to Anthony as it reflects on how much life has changed. Anthony comments, “The song was put together with parts that I had since before James was born. I was terrified about being a bad father, and I knew I was a bad husband so I was dealing with a lot of fear around that.”  The video was directed by Andrew Swartz and was shot in one take, on the beach in Avalon, NJ and delivers a powerful and captivating statement Anthony wanted to share. AM Taxi will have you fall back in love with the mixtape as they release, Semi-Confessional

May 6, 2016

Long before the Ipods, MP3 players, shared playlists, or cds, there was the mixtape. It was the true symbol of youth culture and a musical gem that you would listen to, from front to back. It would become the soundtrack of your life and experiences. They would include a mix of songs and styles, tell stories through the songs,  maybe even some bonus tracks or stripped down acoustic songs, they were special. Many  artists have continued the tradition of creating mixtapes but I would have to commend AM Taxi for their new limited edition mixtape, Semi-Confessional. This is the mixtape gem! From the first time we played it we were grinning ear to ear. It is refreshing to have true ear porn in this world, instead of the clamor of auto-tune, genre mix-ups/blunders, and incoherent blabber! The mixtape features 11 songs; it contains one previously released track along with seven new songs, one dub remix, and two acoustic tracks recorded live in the studio. Special guests include Ike Reilly, Genevieve (Company of Thieves), Michael “Miguel” [Read More]

AM Taxi release live studio video of Shake, Rattle and Stall

March 23, 2016

AM TAXI is one of the first bands we ever featured on Music Junkie Press, nearly six years ago as we embarked on our music site journey. From the first time we saw them opening up for The Spill Canvas at Slim’s in San Francisco, we were blown away and instantly fell in love with their music which was a blend of punk and rock with captivating gritty vocals. They have persevered through lineup changes and a label that I think didn’t truly appreciate the honest true talent that was right in front of them.  AM Taxi is one of our favorite bands with a sound that is addictive in every sense. They are definitely back on the music scene and are working on releasing a mixtape, Semi-Confessional on May 13th. They recently released a video which was shot at the IV Lab Studio in Chicago and filmed by Press Photoraphy Network Inc. It features the band performing Shake, Rattle and Stall. It is awesome and I can’t wait for the tape!   AM Taxi [Read More]

Alien Ken, new album “Change is Constant” is a must have for rockers!

March 21, 2016

Alien Ken is back at it with a new album, Change is Constant which is the follow up to his debut Contact which was released in 2014.  The new album is a full on straight up bad ass ROCK ALBUM! There is no smoke and mirrors, gimmicks or bandwagon songs, this is one complete album that will ROCK YOU. The mysterious and eccentric Alien Ken from Zeta Reticculi/Norway first captured our attention with his debut album and now has us completely hooked with his new songs. The album kicks right off with Dualstar that draws you in with the powerful gritty vocals and fierce guitars. Check out the video for the track which was recorded in Frog Leap Studios by Arvid Tjelta:   Concrete Plastic starts off with a punk angsty intro and then catapults into commanding vocals, chunky guitars and fist in the air rock. Veni Vidi Vici is one of my personal faves and has a sweet blues feel dipped into smoking guitars and high energy. Third has a theatrical dark feel and really [Read More]

Matt comments about the video and  song, REAL psyched on this one. THE ‘ADRENALINE’ VIDEO! about a year ago i stumbled on an artist named 2wenty who creates INCREDIBLE images using lights and long exposures. no computer generated tricks. this is his first foray into video. “adrenaline” is a song about longing. and los angeles. and the lost hours between midnight and dawn. and he nails it. i can’t think of anyone else’s images that even come close. July 24, 2015

Crossfaith are gearing up for the release of their new album, Xeno which is scheduled for a September 18th release through Razor & Tie in North America. They have just released a new track from the album, Ghost In The Mirror which features Caleb Shomo of Beartooth. Frontman Kenta ‘Ken’ Koie explains the song, “This song is about the fight against myself. Everyone has some bad habits, and self-control can be very difficult for humans. And we invited our new best friend, Caleb Shomo of Beartooth, to contribute a guest vocal on the track. His voice made this song more aggressive and offensive. I can’t wait to play this song with him at our show.” Check out the song here: The song definitely is a fierce one and Caleb adds a great heavy edge to it.
