Madysin Hatter brings to life a fusion of old school rock with a modern flair

March 17, 2016

I love my Rock and Roll and I just can’t get enough of it these days. But what I really love is when great new bands and artists are busy at keeping the rock torch burning bright and strong. Singer/Songwriter Madysin Hatter truly reigns as the new queen of rock and is ready to ROCK your world with her new full length album, Lose Your Mind. Her 10 song album brings an infectious fusion of classic rock, 80’s hair rock, pop, and modern rock to life. To maintain that raw edge and rich original sound, Madysin did it the “old school rock way” and recorded the album in analog. Lose Your Mind will take you on a rock and roll journey as you can feel the wind blowing in your hair and rock pulsing through your veins.   The album kicks right off with one of my faves, It’s All Good. You are immediately treated to her commanding vocals filled with endless spirit and ferver that shine for the energetic rock track. Madysin delivers an [Read More]

Heavy Metal band No More Solace represents San Francisco in a heavy way at the Whisky a GoGo

May 26, 2014

Last week when we went down to cover the Skid Row show at the Whisky a GoGo, it was an awesome night filled with hard rock and heavy metal. In addition to the legendary Skid Row kicking ass, we had epic performances by  Shattered Sun , State Line Empire,  Ragdoll,  and No More Solace. Being a Bay Area native, it was awesome for me to see San Francisco Heavy Metal band No More Solace show the Whisky that we still have a lot to offer in the heavy metal scene. They came out blazing with heavy riffs, vicious melodies and harmonious and powerful vocals. They were there to kick it up a notch and they definitely achieved what they came to do. It was great to see Chuck Billy (Testament and co-founder of Breaking Bands Management) watching them as well. I am sure he was proud to see this Bay Area Band tear up the Whisky with their heavy metal. Check out the photos from Rockin Ryan of their set: You can also check out a tribute [Read More]

State Line Empire ROCKS the DNA Lounge opening for Skid Row

May 14, 2014

Last night we headed to the DNA Lounge in San Francisco to see State Line Empire as they were opening for Skid Row. The place was packed and The Devil in California opened the night with a solid set and then came State Line Empire for a ROCKIN set, and up next was Black Star Riders (Thin Lizzy) and headliner Skid Row closed out the night with a bang!   State Line Empire sounded great as they started off the set with a crowd favorite, Load Em Up. One thing is for sure, this band is never short on energy and they have an infectious rock vibe that spread through the crowd. If anyone arrived not knowing who State Line Empire were, they left that night being a devoted fan. They finished their set with another one of my favorites, Drive Me. Their set list for the night was: Load em up Into Pieces Your Someone Else’s Problem Now Know My Name Lock & Load Cross That Line Raise Your Sins Break Me Down [Read More]

State Line Empire rocks the Whisky during NAMM week

February 3, 2014

One thing I really enjoy during NAMM week is catching an awesome concert after a long day walking the floors of the Anaheim Convention Center.  During our NAMM week, we had long days and then even longer nights. On Saturday night, right after NAMM closed, we headed down to Hollywood. We got there in time so we could catch our friends in State Line Empire perform.  State Line Empire were playing at the Whisky-A-GoGo for one of their 50th Anniversary shows along with Fault Line, Jetboy and Faster Pussycat. Well, State Line Empire definitely put on a great show that night and even played some of their new songs, especially my favorite; “Raise Your Sins”.  Rockin Ryan was running around photographing the night and he even ran it Jinxx of Black Veil Brides who came out for the show. Ryan asked Jinxx after State Line Empire‘s set about the night and he shared with Ryan how much he loves the Whisky and it’s atmosphere and also how good State Line Empire’s set was!  Of course, [Read More]
