Saturday night, we caught Okey Dokey open up for Zella Day out on the Hot Summer Nights Tour and it was awesome.  I love it when I get to catch a band I am not familiar with and they blow us away. That is exactly what Okey Dokey did for us.  Their music is a addictive blend of 60’s groove pop and indie rock.  Imagine a modern day indie version of the Doors and frontman Aaron Martin channels a Jim Morrison vibe that will have you hooked right from the start. Gang Of Youths announce new record + huge tour

November 11, 2021

Today, Australian indie-rock band Gang Of Youths announced the release of their third studio record “angel in realtime”. It will be out February 25, 2022. They also shared a brand-new track “tend the garden”. The band comments: “The record is about the life and legacy of Daves father, indegineous identity, death, grief and god. And also about the area around Angel, Islington.” Despite, or perhaps because of, the absence of frontman Dave Le’aupepes father, his influence extends through the whole album – sometimes subliminal, sometimes clearly, when it’s about the specific personal experiences of loss: The oppositeness of intensity and inner contemplation, which happens, when a man experiences his last days; the overwhelming feeling for the surviving relatives, that, after the death of a loved one their lives will never be the same, while the rest of the world takes its course as if nothing happened. After their latest single, “the angel of 8th ave.” – which is about falling in love and finding a new life in a new town together – and “the [Read More]

Gloo (UK) present new song “Big Smoke”

May 2, 2021

UK-Indie rockers Gloo present the video for their new single “Big Smoke”. The catchy track is another sign for a new studio record, which is supposed to be released this year via Hassle Records. “Big Smoke” was recorded with producer Jag Jago (The Maccabees, Jamie T, The Ghost Of A Thousand), just like “Down” and “Work So Hard“. Singer and drummer Mark comments: “It’s so easy to romanticise life… Daydreaming and think that moving to London, getting married or having a nice car can fix all your problems. From what I can see, these things are much more of a smokescreen than a remedy… So! Here’s 2 minutes and 25 seconds of me shouting about how much it annoys me.”  For more information on Gloo, follow their social media: https://www.facebook.com/glooband https://www.instagram.com/glooband https://twitter.com/glooband?lang=de
