Get electrified with Norway rockers new track Flicking the Bees

June 22, 2023

Electric High hailing from Bergen, Norway are a blend of alternative rock and hard rock with a burst of old style rock n roll. They have released their new single, Flicking the Bees. About the track This swaggering rock ’n’ stroller came out of the usual collab between Electric High’s most active songwriters, PV Staff and Marius Mørch. The idea was to create an Electric High song that would stand in contrast to the band’s many more upbeat past releases. The band collectively tapped into the idea and created a track that builds in intensity throughout, from a pretty light-headed, easy-going start, to ending in a quite frantic vibe, with the characteristic screaming from the two lead singers, PV Staff and Olav Iversen. The lyrics pretty much bring across the message that if your keep on flicking the bees, they will eventually get back at you and sting you fiercely. It’s gonna hurt. So don’t act stupid. Stop wasting time on silly stuff. Do good. Be cool. And you’ll be alright. Flicking the Bees was [Read More]

Bay Area instrumental rock band Wander perform at The Independent

June 21, 2023

Tuesday night in San Francisco had us at The Indendent and it was quite a night of 3 spectacular sets!  The Dirty Nil were performing with Daniel Romano’s Outfit.  Kicking the night off was local Bay Area instrumental rock band Wander. Being an avid devotee of lyrics and vocalists, I didn’t know what to expect with an instrumental band. What a great surprise Wander turned out to be!  These guys can truly rock! They delivered a mesmerizing blend of progressive, heavy shredding rock with streaks of shoegaze and 90’s vibes.  Combined it was a winning combination that had me glued to their set. Their stage presence was full of energy and had the crowd cheering after each song. I was hooked and have now added them to some of my favorite newly discovered bands. Check out some photos of their set by our Rockin Ryan: To get a glimpse into the night, you can watch a video here from their San Francisco show:   In addition, we picked up some cool merch including a cool [Read More]

Garret T. Willie release epic new rock/blues track, Love Hangover

June 16, 2023

Garret T. Willie is an old soul that you have to check out.  The rock and blues guitarist truly channels classic blues and rock with his music.  He has just released his  new track, Love Hangover and it is epic!  Garret commenting about the new song, “That’s one that Parker really took the lead on. He was, like, ‘I wanna write a really good, radio-ready banger.’ So I said ‘Okay, let’s do it.’ He started playing me this drum loop that, I swear, he just ripped from Gary Glitter’s ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ and I looked at him right away and he said ‘Don’t fuckin’ give me that look, just riff over it. Just trust me on this.’ So I kept trying and trying and trying and playing this and that, playing this and that, this and that, until finally I gotiff, the one that’s on the record. And then he said ‘I like that. Do it again.’“The song is about this one Muse, I guess you could say, that I had at that point in [Read More]

Starbenders release new song and video for We’re Not Ok

June 15, 2023

One of our favorite sets of 2022 was catching Starbenders perform at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco.  We had been following the Atlanta-born glam/punk rockers for a while and finally got to see them LIVE. They blew away our expectations with a set that was stadium worthy!  Check out some of the photos from that show by our Rockin Ryan: Today we are excited to share the video for their new song, We’re Not OK which is off their upcoming album, Take Back the Night set for a September 22nd release via Sumerian Records. Check out the video here: Kimi Shelter comments about the song, “When I initially wrote “We’re Not OK”, I was thinking about the struggle I’ve had with spirituality. Sometimes I feel like a poser when I try to tap into faith. That small voice going, “you really don’t believe”, “you know it’s not going to be any different”… and on and on. I brought my mentor and dear friend, James Hall, in to co-write. He was able to bring more light to [Read More]

Another great new band that you have to know! Nashville power rockers The Pink Spiders have released a video for their third single, Let’s Go Home, off their first album in 5 years, “Freakazoid,” that’s due out July 7th from Pure Noise Records. Frontman Matt Friction comments about the new song, “’Let’s Go Home’ is the first Pink Spiders song to celebrate the low-key joy of skipping the party and the bad decisions and just kickin it at home with the ones you love. It’s a bit out of character, but we felt like it was time for an anthem to taking care of yourself and not waking up with regrets. This sign of maturity will likely resonate with fans and critics alike.”  Check out the video here:   You can pre-order the new album, Freakazoid”   HERE.
