12 Days of Christmas

12 Days of Rock Christmas starts with Heaven’s Basement!

December 12, 2012

12 Days of Rock Christmas!   Day 1 On the first day of Christmas, my Rock and Roll love gave to me, down and dirty hard rock sound by Heaven’s Basement!  This band from England is going to be on the tip of all your tongues in 2013, mark my words.   These four guys have a stadium rock sound that needs to be unleashed here in the States. They deliver rock  that has just received 1000 volts of power. Caution! The defibrillator paddles have been brought out and just brought old school Rock and Roll ALIVE!!! Heaven’s Basement has invigorated music and it is exactly what we need more of. They are just getting back to England from touring Europe and treating those lucky concertgoers to melt your face ROCK! During their European tour, they were sharing the stage with Seether, Halestorm, Papa Roach, Shinedown, Duff McKagan and Buckcherry. Heaven’s Basement was formed in 2008 and is currently signed with Red Bull Records. Actually, their new single, “Nothing to Lose” is the official soundtrack [Read More]

Fresh new Hard Rock with Red9

December 7, 2012

It was less than a week ago that I was treated to the music of Red9.  They were chosen by Slash himself to open for him at his show at the Wiltern Theatre, Los Angeles on December 2, 2012.  They were great! I always love checking out the opening bands and I end up finding some of my favorite new music that way.  Red9 is a Southern California rock trio. Just because there are only 3, does not mean they do not deliver a huge sound! These guys are a powerhouse of rock and adrenaline. Red9 is Paul ‘Friz” Frislie on guitars, Giovanni ‘Gio” Fuentes and Jeff on bass and vocals. Together they create a true rock sound and I am hoping for a Bay Area show soon. I am going to need my Red9 Fix! They have a sound similar to Tool and a grungier Nine Inch Nails. Jeff on bass really captivates you with his exploding bass lines and his vocals. Paul just exudes energy while he is ripping out blazing riffs. Gio [Read More]

Kenneth J. Nash’s touching personal journey through music

December 6, 2012

Kenneth J. Nash For anyone who has turned to music to comfort themselves, silence a fear, escape from the pain or just to feed their soul, Kenneth J. Nash delivers the best medicine.  Kenneth is no stranger to the music scene and has written and released several LPs over the past few years. He is an English singer songwriter that has captured my attention with his beautiful words and soul touching songs. Kenneth is working on a new LP that  shares his journey through depression, loneliness, vengeful feelings and provides a message of hope to everyone that they too can get through these times.  His smooth voice is like a warm embrace that keeps you safe from harm. His music literally takes me back in time to when I might come home from school with a bruised knee or a broken heart and I would run into my father’s arms and just feel all my troubles melt away. That is what I feel when I listen to Kenneth; safety, peace and just pure bliss. His [Read More]

Adler breathes new life into Rock ‘n Roll!

December 4, 2012

It is finally here! Yes, the long wait is over. The debut record of Adler titled “Back from the Dead” has been released. This album was produced by Jeff Pilson (Foreigner, Dokken). There is even guest appearances by Steven’s former Guns ‘n Roses bandmate; Slash and the great John 5 formerly of Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie. The singles “The One That you Hated” and  “Good to be Bad” have been all over the airwaves. This album is filled with great rock and roll and has everything we have been waiting to hear. It is not going to be a surprise if this album puts out more than a handful of hit singles. It is great to have an album once again where you want to buy the complete album and you listen to it from beginning to end. These days everyone seems to be buying singles or only getting to hear a couple songs from an album. Well on this one, you can’t do that because you will miss so many great songs. It [Read More]
