Loathe share version of their track “Is It Really You?” with Teenage Wrist

January 20, 2022

Loathe have revealed a new collaboration version of their track “Is It Really You?”, with LA-based alt-rock band Teenage Wrist. Taken from their 2020 record “I Let It In And It Took Everything”, “Is It Really You?” has been identified as one of the pivotal moments in Loathe’s sonic evolution, in part due to its shoegaze laced atmosphere. This new version is a lustrous interpretation, embracing the track’s almost dream-pop aesthetic. Marshall Gallagher from Teenage Wrist stated: “We discovered ‘I Let It In and It Took Everything’ while we were tracking ‘Earth Is A Black Hole’, and it immediately became one of my favourite records of that year. Honestly, I only listened deep to a handful of records while we were making ours and that was one of them. So, it was pretty wild to get to dig through the actual tracks and do our own interpretation of ‘Is It Really You?’ – I was already such a big fan and that song in particular really hit me. It’s extra cool to know that we’re [Read More]

Vagrants share new single and video for “Skin And Bone”

January 17, 2022

Today, progressive post-hardcore outfit Vagrants shared their new single and video “Skin and Bone” out now on Rude Records/Equal Vision Records. Formed in 2017, Vagrants’ current line-up is composed of Jose DelRio (guitars/vocals), Anastasia Hayes (Drums), and Bryce Ballinger (guitar). “Skin and Bone” is a continuation of the bands progressive sound – awash with intricate guitar and drum work supported by modern electronic elements. The tracks vocals are equal parts soaring and powerful, conveying the dark message of the song with a melodic sensibility that is undeniably catchy. The official music video is comprised of caustic live shots of the band and a compelling cinematic narrative that adds emotional weight to the visual. On the theme of their new single, guitarist and vocalist Jose DelRio has this to say: “Our new track “Skin and Bone” embodies a feeling that almost everyone has experienced at some point – Does any of this matter? Albeit nihilistic, it is a very human emotion. This song served as a way for me to express that at the lowest point [Read More]

Graphic Nature announce “New Skin” EP

January 17, 2022

Raw, heavy, aggressive, and at times genuinely creepy, Kent metallers Graphic Nature are one of the most energized and exciting new bands to emerge from the British metal scene in years. Taking their name from a track on Deftones – “Koi No Yokan” album, in 2019 Graphic Nature announced themselves with the single “Grit”, and immediately began carving a name for themselves as a ferocious new force in British metal. With their new EP “new skin” – out Feb 25th, their first for new label Rude Records, they’re doubling down. Mixing moments of snarling nu-metal aggro and the scalding fury of Slipknot’s debut album with instrumental passages that at times recall the genius of Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor, Harvey says “this is where we’ve nailed the Graphic Nature sound”. Beefier in some places, angrier in others, and more sophisticated at times if you look closer, the result is an EP of songs that carry the spirit of nu-metal, sharpened and bulked-up for present-day, which lands with the confidence of a metal fist. Musically, Graphic [Read More]

Booze & Glory share new song/video for “Raising The Roof”

January 17, 2022

Booze & Glory start the year 2022 with a bang and release with “Raising The Roof” a brand-new single and video. The new song revives the “As Bold As Brass”- era – sweeping Old-School-Streetpunk with lots of high spirits, which we really need in those crazy days. Booze & Glory were founded in London in 2009. In the beginning, they were a direct homage to the Streetpunk and Oi!-Bands of the British scene from the late 70’s and 80’s. Thanks to the rousing songwriting, which for a long time came from the streets of the British capital, and heroic and ruthless dedication to live shows, the band was by and by admitted by a colossal international fanbase and the video for their debut was streamed on YouTube over 24 million times. Tours in Asia, South America, the USA and pretty much everywhere, where they were wanted, ensured that Booze & Glory’s records “As Bold As Brass” or “Chapter IV” became an indispensable listening experience for fans of tough and snotty Rock n’ Roll. Between 2017 [Read More]

A Will Away share new single “I’ve Got A Five”

January 15, 2022

A Will Away usher in the new year with the new single “I’ve Got A Five”, the latest song from their forthcoming LP Stew, due out next month on February 18th via Rude Records. The song tackles “musings on the breakdown of interpersonal relationships,” explains the band. “As both parties grow ever more frustrated and hurt, someone inevitably starts keeping score. Eventually, the whole thing becomes more about winning some unspoken wager rather than mending what’s broken.” The sweetly somber track builds to a rumble and then resolves again in pattern on the back of math rock-inspired rhythms. Earlier singles have already won attention from the likes of Brooklyn Vegan, The Alternative, and Spotify, and Apple Music’s “All-New Rock” and “New In Rock” playlists respectively. As with past efforts, Stew continues A Will Away’s practice of including carefully constructed connecting narratives throughout their entire body of releases, using contextual clues and lyrical devices that the band calls “breadcrumbs”. Whether through the use of tone, lyrics, artwork themes, or song ordering; these “breadcrumbs” aim to envelop [Read More]
