The Relapse Symphony from Washington, DC are set to release their debut LP Shadows on July 8th via Standby Records. The highly anticipated album will show the progression of the band since their release of their 2013 EP, Time’s Running Out. Guitarist JC Charles explains, “When we recorded our EP we were still in the infancy of our band. We were still experimenting and finding ourselves as musicians, and as people. We all went through some of the toughest times of our lives during the making of this album, and we came out on the other side with something we are all extremely proud of. This record is something we know our fans are going to get a lot out of, and hopefully will make us some new fans along the way.”

This album is truly a fantastic work by this young band. They have successfully brought together various styles and inspirations into this album which will have something for everyone to love. It actually brings back a very 80’s Skid Row vibe but in a modernized way. I love it!

You start off with the amazing intro on Embrace The Darkness where it creates the cinematic backdrop for the album. It brings you right into the hit, We Are The Broken which will become the perfect rock anthem for the youth of today. It will have everyone singing along, “We Are The Broken, We are the Devil’s favorite flame”. We Are The Broken was just released on May 27th via iTunes and has been getting rave reviews as it deserves! Check out the song here on their newly released lyric video:

The charismatic track of Battlefield of Lies highlights some cool guitar licks,a smoking solo and energetic drums. It takes you into the deep dark world of the industry and how sometimes it can become a battlefield of lies, lyrically it is superb. One More Yesterday delivers emotionally driven lyrics as we all wish for more time with that one person who is no longer with us. It just might be one of the most passionate tracks on the album and it is filled with heartfelt emotion. Truly a great example of how much this band has grown into well crafted songwriters. Make Your Move is an energetic pop punk track that will have you making your move in no time. The vocals are inviting as the uptempo of the track fuels you with energy.

Savage Eyes kicks ass! It has a heavier metal intro that transitions into a hard rock heavy hitting track. The guitars are heavier with blazing riffs and another smoking solo. It has a cool harmony that will have you singing along with your fist in the air. It definitely delivers a good one two punch of HARD ROCK that we love. Walls brings out a classic punk angst filled song, old school punk vocals and I love the (Jacky Vincent) style sweeping on the guitars and blends into a pop punk hit.

Angels Take Us Demons Save Us really highlights precision fast paced drumming. It is not only a high adrenaline track but has an infectious chorus, and ends out on a heavy tone, another song that will have you take notice of the creative edge that The Relapse Symphony brings to this album. The Ghost That Got Away is guitar oriented  and the vocals completely engage the listener and this might just be might favorite song.

Forever Slowly has a ballad style feel but is a ballad done The Relapse Symphony way, with passionate vocals, more rockin tempo and lyrics that feed your soul and touch your heart. The album finishes up with the title track, Shadows and just knowing it is the last song has me sad it is over. I just want so much more so on replay it goes! Shadows has a very dark intro with edgier and seductive vocals that create a veil of intensity that emblazen this track. It is going to be one of those stellar tracks that you will find yourself going back to; time and time again as it bleeds the emotion through the music and soothes your soul.
