Ed Kowalczyk is our Bottle Rock Napa 2014 Featured Artist of the Day

Today we have a very special treat for the featured artist/band of the day. It is Ed Kowalczyk (former lead singer and founding member of LIVE) and he is going to bring his stellar voice to Bottle Rock Napa 2014! I still remember the first time I heard the amazing voice of Ed, it was back in the ’91/’92 and as usual, I went out in search of live bands on a Friday night. My group of friends and I went to the Paradise Lounge and the DNA Lounge in San Francisco and LIVE was just about to perform there. I remember getting up and going right to the front of the stage and watching the entire set in awe of that amazing voice. Ed’s voice is powerful yet vulnerable, commanding yet inviting, just pure blissful.

Ed has ventured out in his solo career for the past several years and have had quite a successful run. When he performs you may get treated to some of your favorite LIVE songs or revel in the bliss of his solo career songs. (My requests would be anything off of Mental Jewelry most specifically, Pain Lies on the Riverside or The Beauty of Grey) Whatever song Ed is playing, is always music to my ears. I am sure he could sing a page out of the dictionary and have it sound remarkable. We may just have to put that to the test!

Ed has released his new album, The Flood and The Mercy which is out now and you can pick it up through Ed’s website. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the vinyl pressing of the album since I have a mad love affair with vinyl.
