The Architects bring some good ole’ fashion punk rock to life at the Ace of Spades

Last night we were at the Ace of Spades for the Blue October SWAY tour and the opening band really kicked ass!! Opening the tour for Blue October on this next leg of their SWAY tour is a punk rock band from Kansas City, MO. Allow me to introduce you to The Architects. The Architects are Brandon on Guitar/Vocals, Adam on Drums Brown Drums, Zach on Bass/Vocals and Keenan on Guitar.

IMG_6501These four guys deliver a set fueled with high energy old fashioned punk rock. In a time where music contains so many genres, subgenres, cores, etc it is nice to see a band not trying to create the “next new sound” but instead perfecting an old familiar favorite; punk rock. They were truly awesome and you should definitely try to catch them when they are coming to a venue near you.

We were able to pick up their album BORDER WARS, a concept album and comic book that is presented in five episodes. It is a great marketing tool as well as a interesting comic book that could stand alone outside the music. People were lining up to buy the comic book inclusive of their music CD and they were signing them as fast as they were selling them. We look forward to the future episodes. The album itself is soon to be one of my most played CDs as we played it on the nearly three hour ride home last night and today we are still playing it. It has attitude, angst, energy, raw guitars, gritty vocals and everything you could want in your punk rock.  They have a feel of a modern day Clash, they also remind me of another favorite band of mine A.M. Taxi out of Chicago. You are really going to love them. Lucky is my personal favorite but then again Heartbreaker is right there tied. Well, hell the whole album is a hit. You can also pick up their older albums from them on Itunes here. We were able to chat with them for a quick interview after their set:

Here is also a tribute video made by our Rockin Ryan to their song, Lucky:

So make sure to visit their social media sites and stay up to date on the latest news on The Architects. They just might turn out to be your next favorite band!  I will leave you with a slide show with photos by Rockin Ryan from their set last night.
