UPON THIS DAWNING deliver a heavy well needed dose of metal to San Francisco at the DNA Lounge

IMG_9006

Last night everyone in San Francisco was going wild over watching the SF Giants in the World Series except for us at Music Junkie Press. We were at the exact place we wanted to be…. at the DNA Lounge for the fierce set of Upon This Dawning! We have been waiting for this show and were so excited to catch their set. Upon This Dawning are from Italy and bring a heavy dose of metal sprinkled with orchestra elements/EDM. What you are given is the perfect blend to head bang or keep you moving on your feet.

The show was held at the Above DNA stage which is great for harnessing the energy of the intimate room and on this night, you couldn’t contain the fluid energy that was flowing through the stage and the crowd. The crowd was probably one of the heaviest I have seen in a while at the Above DNA and it was awesome! Complete with full mosh pits, circle pits, jumping and head banging galore. Upon This Dawning have an incredible stage presence and captivated the crowd from start to finish. Vocalist Dani has such a charismatic vibe that he just intoxicates the crowd with his performance. The bassist, Matteo had infinite amounts of adrenaline running through them and it became infectious for everyone. Guitarist Matteo was bad ass and his vocals were rich and powerful and Christopher was a madman on the drums. Check out the photos from Rockin Ryan of their set:

The tour was only on it’s second night so make sure to check the dates below and catch them live at a venue near you! It is a full tour for the Ground Zero Album Release of As Blood Runs Black and in addition to Upon This Dawning includes Rings of Saturn, Elitist, Those Who Fear and The Convalescence. Great lineup full of some heavy bands that you have to check out.
