12 Days of Christmas

Day 4 brings Man Made Machine for 12 Days of Rock Christmas!

December 15, 2012

12 Days of Rock Christmas! Day 4 On the 4th day of Christmas my Rock and Roll love gave to me some high energy rock from Man Made Machine. Get ready people, you are going to love this band! They have been described as a full-octane rock and metal sound. When you listen to them you will instantly be banging your head with fists in the air and ready to ROCK! Even though they had many labels approaching them, they inked a record deal with Razor & Tie to debut their album “BECOME”. Now this gets even better when you throw in the fact that it is produced by Chad Gray and Greg Tribbett (Mudvayne/HellYeah) and mixed by Jeremy Parker (Godsmack/Evanescence). Ya, I know, you can pick up your jaw now. These guys have an incredible entourage backing them and guess what? They do not let anyone down, but instead exceed expectations by delivering solid powered rock with emotionally charged lyrics. Man Made Machine is Joe Cotela on Vocals, Justyn Sena on Bass, Matt Reinhard [Read More]

A Warm Embrace from Barcelona

November 13, 2012

Barcelona Barcelona is an indie rock band from Seattle, Washington formed around 2005 and I wish I had heard of them sooner. But I am glad that I do have them now in my regular playlist. Barcelona opened up for Blue October (full review here) on Saturday night (Nov. 10, 2012) and they put on an exceptional show. Their sound is piano based harmonies wrapped with edges of rock interlaced. They remind me of The Fray, Augustana or Throwing Ivory which are also some of my favorites. Brian Fennell is on piano and also provides the exceptional emotionally charged vocals. Chris Bristol beautifully entertains us on guitars and backing vocals while we get our energy recharged by Rhett Stonelake. They currently have their new CD out, “Not Quite Yours” which holds some of my favorites like “Only Son”, ‘Evermore” and “Change”. You can get their CD or my preference the Vinyl straight from their website or if you must download, they also offer that direct from their site.  While you are at it, you will [Read More]

It is time to make some noise for A Silent Film

November 12, 2012

A Silent Film is a powerhouse quartet from Oxford, UK that took me by surprise on Saturday night. I went to see Blue October play at The Regency Ballroom and you can read my full review from that show here. A Silent Film was one of the opening bands and I am sure glad that I got there in time to watch their whole set. These guys were incredible. I was up sitting in the balcony area and gathering my notes for my review and as soon as they hit the stage, I literally got up and had to get downstairs onto the floor and to see if what I was hearing was accurate! I swear for a second there I was taken back to the first time that I listened to U2 as a teenager and became enmeshed with Alternative Rock. It was the sweet lyrics, uptempo beat, melodic harmonies all drawing me in once again. I stood there and my mind was flooded with some of my favorite acts coming to mind; Jack’s [Read More]

Concordia gets you energized with their new music!

October 16, 2012

Con·cor·di·a  [kon-kawr-dee-uh]    noun:  1. the ancient Roman goddess of harmony or peace.  2. a KICK ASS Rock Band from Cleveland, Ohio that you have to know about!   I told you a bit about Concordia when I went to see them open up for 12 Stones at the Phoenix in Petaluma earlier this year. You can read more about that show here.  Well since then, I have been immensely enjoying my CD that I picked up at that show, aptly titled “Clarity of Perception”.  Their sound blends many of my favorite music styles together to create an intense fusion of music that gives you catchy melodies, energy driven riffs, fantastic vocals that keep you engaged and energized.  You can head over to Concordia’s website to get your own copy of “Clarity of Perception” or download from Itunes. Concordia is Eric Emery on Vocals, Cory Juba on Guitar, Nick Smith on Bass and Kyle Tresch on drums.  We recently were able to catch up with Eric Emery who formed Concordia back in 2011. Music Junkie Press:  First, Eric, tell us about how you [Read More]

Today I want to introduce you to Mike Trisain who is from New York, New York and is providing us with some great Rock/Edge Metal music . We had a chance to catch up with Mike and we hope you get to know this great musician. Music Junkie Press:  Mike, you are an inspiration to others and your music will always be soul touching and we are grateful for that! Keep giving us such beautiful music to be thankful for. Mike Trisain: First off I would like to thank you for the opportunity to talk with you about my music I really appreciate it. New Music by Throwing Gravity will pull you in!

August 28, 2012

I wanted to let you know about a great new band that I have been listening to. It is Throwing Gravity and they are an alternative rock band with a Nashville edge that comes together beautifully. These guys just finished up a tour with another one of my favorite bands, 12 Stones and have been sharing the stage with other greats like My Darkest Days, Chevelle, Red and Evans Blue. Throwing Gravity was in great company with those bands and I am also sure gained many new fans with their own music. Their single, “Here we Go Again” has had multiple placements with NHL, MLB, and TNA Wrestling and next on their list is “The Inside”.  It is no wonder since both songs send out the good vibe and are energy driven.  The bass lines on The Inside are awesome. Here is their official video for “Here We Go Again” which will have you ready to face your battles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQ2iQIyit2k Their whole album, “It’s Not the End”, has such a great all around alternative rock sound [Read More]
