Shining the Spotlight on Steve Kilbey and his new solo album, Eleven Women

Steve Kilbey released a new solo album in September and it is a must to listen to! He released Eleven Women, a collection is at once whimsical yet personal. About the album, The album leads us through a shimmering whirlwind of encounters. After the disarming love song ‘Baby Poe’ we are plunged headlong into the dark world of ‘Doris McAllister,’ an evil witch who takes us ‘by the bells’. We are regaled by the Celtic wistfulness of ‘Josephine’ as she forbiddingly awaits her ‘wine & roses’ while ‘Birdeen,’ a greedy lorikeet with a sweet tooth, beguiles us with infectious bounce & color. Eleven Women is full of melodic invention & lyrical surprises. Singling out tracks for special mention is frankly impossible since this album consists entirely of highlights. Amongst these however the timelessly beautiful  ‘Think of You’ shines brightly. This song has the unmistakeable stamp of eternity & evokes a sense of having existed since music began. Magic Giant releases fetching new track, Outta My Head and we love it!

One of our favorite bands, Magic Giant have just released an infectious new track that I would love to get stuck in my head! The new single, Outta My Head, is a catchy and captivating new song about the trying to hold on to love despite the odds. Concert Recap: Dinosaur Pile Up, Brkn Love and Leather Feather – San Francisco

  Last night, the Celebrity Mansions Tour kicked off in San Francisco at the Bottom of the Hill. The North American Tour features headliners Dinosaur Pile Up with support from BRKN Love and local favorites Leather Feather. It was a kick ass night of music that had the crowd pumped from start to finish. The night kicked off with local faves Leather Feather. The band delivered high energy alt-rock that featured masked band members that rocked the stage. The singer’s vocals shined in the spotlight as he brought such emotion with each note sung. It was incredible and had me from the get go.   Vancouver BC based alternative rock  band, Rare Americans are set to capture your attention. The alt rock band was started by brothers James and Jared Priestner. It started by brothers James and Jared Priestner taking a trip to the Caribbean in the spring of 2017. Having never written a song together, James thought it might be a fun vacation activity to do and suggest it to Jared. Being a big-thinker, Jared said “A song? Fuck that, why don’t we write an album?” They laughed in the moment but sure enough ten days later the first 15 Rare Americans songs were born. The band is rounded out by long-time collaborator and guitarist Lubo Ivan, who grew up in the sticks of Slovakia and finally just got his Canadian PR after two long years of battling the Canadian government. WARD enters the spotlight with infectious new song and video for Sober

  Sometimes your world maybe spinning out of control, and the only thing left to do is ride it out.  That is exactly what Los Angeles based Ward does in his latest video. He has just released a truly captivating and gravity defying video for his ultra-infectious new track. Sober.  The video brings such realism into the ups and downs and a glimpse into the uncertainty of being grounded or Sober.  We had to find out more about the filming of the video?   The video was shot on 90º angles using fabricated sets in Ward’s home, studio and on the street in Culver City. Space Monkeys get creative as they deal with the PledgeMusic fiasco

As the PledgeMusic crowdfunding fiasco still in a limbo state, and plenty of artists who are waiting on their payments, many bands have had to get creative in order to finish their projects.  The crowdfunding platform PledgeMusic has still not paid out the funds to so many campaigns. Artists are left on hold, fans are left waiting for their pledged items, and there has been no resolution in site, just a waiting game. The last statement from PledgeMusic was on February 1st.
