CMT premieres Kiefer Sutherland’s Shirley Jean video

Kiefer Sutherland’s cinematic “Shirley Jean” video, which tells the story of a man’s last night on death row, taking the form of a goodbye letter to a woman he once loved, premieres on CMT channels and platforms June 21.  You can check out the video here: “It was the one song on the album that obviously was not a very personal story from my own life,” Sutherland tells Rolling Stone Country. “I had a huge respect for Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard. These guys wrote about the dirtier side of life and the tougher aspects of life. Cash realized he wasn’t a ‘bad guy,’ and that maybe some of these people in prison aren’t ‘bad guys.’ He gave them a kind of dignity that I really respected. He created an avenue of forgiveness that I don’t think was as available at that time. I love the way he did that. Time to get hooked on the new song from Nashville TV Star and singer/songwriter Riley Smith. He has just released a video for his great new track, I’m On Fire which was co-written by Matthew Perryman Jones and Tim Lauer (Hank Williams, Shawn Mendes, Blake Shelton). Check out the video below: The song is off his forthcoming self titled EP which will be released on July 21st and is produced by Kevin Leach. Smith describes the EP as ‘loaner music’, “there’s a common theme of distance and space running through the EP. There’s a longing and yearning to the music. Rising country star Matt Gary is tearing down the genre walls of country as he seamlessly fuses country music with pop melodies and rock n roll flare. He has just released a new lyric video for his track, Back. The song is about a man’s desire to win back an old flame whose passion he still yearns for.  The video features background scenes of a metropolitan hotel room with sweeping views of a city, interspersed with haunting images of a beautiful woman who seems just out of reach. VIDEO: Dan Davidson releases video for newest single, Barn Burner

  Dan Davidson has released the highly entertaining Official Music Video for his newest single, “Barn Burner.” Filmed in downtown Tokyo, and directed by Travis Nesbitt (Design By Komputer) with Assistant Director Russ Dawson, “Barn Burner” follows a distinctively Western dressed Davidson contrasting with the Japanese street culture surrounding him.  Check out the video here:   Dan comments about the video, The song really came at me from out of nowhere (as some of the best ones seem to do). Dierks Bentley has been delivering crowd praising shows to arenas/stadiums across the country, out on his 2016 Somewhere On a Beach Tour. This past Friday, it was Concord’s turn to enjoy the show and it was quite a memorable one for the fans. As our colleague Sean Liming comments, What a Show! Dierks was so in to the fans and even ran around the venue. He sang a couple of songs from behind the sound board and had selected fans on stage with him for the last song (drunk on a plane).   The energy that Dierks brings to the stage is infectious and he definitely turned up the adrenaline for the Concord venue.
