Dan Ashley captivates the crowd at Outside Lands 2023

As we begin to bring you our set recaps from Outside Lands, we would like to start off with one of our favorites. Dan Ashley performed at the Panhandle stage on Saturday and we were glad we caught the set. Dan brought his Americana Rock and Original Roll band to the festival and it was quite a fun time. Dan comments, “We had a terrific experience performing at Outside Lands this year. What a privilege to play such a major music festival, not just in San Francisco, but one of the biggest in the country”. We caught Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs at BottleRock Napa 2023. Mike Campbell was a member, architect and co-captain of the Heartbreakers, a band he co-founded with Tom Petty, whom he met in a Gainesville, Florida carport in 1972. In 2018, Campbell joined Fleetwood Mac’s World Tour on lead guitar and in 2020, Campbell released Wreckless Abandon, the first album by The Dirty Knobs, a group that was Campbell longtime side project but is now his primary musical focus. Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs released their second LP External Combustion in 2022 and toured the USA, including runs opening for both Chris Stapleton and The Who. BottleRock Napa 2023 highlight goes to Great Northern

Last year I was so excited to catch Great Northern play at BottleRock Napa. It was a return to the stage that I was so excited to witness. Great Northern was formed in 2005 by founding partners Rachel Stolte and Solon Bixler and last year they returned to the scene and I was ecstatic. Fast forward to BottleRock Napa 2023 and I am in awe to see that they are on the lineup for 23! As we wind down our BottleRock coverage, we look back at my final highlight Great Northern. Phantogram which is comprised of lifelong friends Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel came to BottleRock and delivered an amazing set. They might be categorized as alternative but their music defies all genres. They have hard hitting beats, psych groove guitars and mesmerizing vocals. Another great band that never disappoints is The Airborne Toxic Event. They brought their powerful sound to the Verizon Stage. Ayleen Valentine at BottleRock Napa 2023

Ayleen Valentine gave a fiercely emotionally raw set at BottleRock Napa on the Jam Cellars Stage. Info: Growing up in Miami, FL, Ayleen always had a passion for songwriting and art. She dreamed of working with artists like James Blake, loved the rawness of rappers like XXXTentacion, and respected Grimes for her ability to self-produce. The 21-year-old Valentine recently dropped out of Berklee College of Music, where she had a full ride for music production, to move to LA and devote herself entirely to music. Drawing upon her Argentinian and Peruvian background, Ayleen incorporates a fresh, distinct perspective in her songwriting mixed with her solid production style. She recently released her debut EP entitled, tonight i don’t exist, featuring hits like “why do i do that” and “next life” with plans of new music in the near future.
