Tuesdays Travels Pick of the week goes to BatAAr from Sweden

January 7, 2014

Here we are on our first Tuesday Travels Pick of the Week for 2014!!!! Let’s start it off with an awesome alternative style metal band, BatAAr from Gothenburg, Sweden.  They truly have a unique sound that blends everything from metal to punk, electronic to deathcore.  They call their style “Art Metal” and it definitely will grab you and have you wanting to hear more. BatAAr just finished up their first ever Japan tour and it was quite successful. They definitely gained tons of new fans and we can’t wait for them to announce new tour dates…. hoping for some US dates soon.  BatAAr is Seb on Vocals, Patrik on Guitar, Simon on Guitar, Jake on Bass and Tobias on Drums. Check out their video for my favorite song of theirs, The Distance which can be purchases on Itunes here.   I love that song! It not only KICKS ASS but it is very well written with some very emotionally driven lyrics: Even though the sky is shared by all, you’re past my horizon I can’t put into words How this [Read More]

Get Ready to Rock with solo artist, Frank Palangi and his new EP!

January 2, 2014

Recording Artist and Singer/Songwriter, Frank Palangi of New York, will have you ready to rock with his new EP, “I AM READY”.  Multi-Instrumentalist Frank, who has recorded/mixed/produced rock scoring work with local artists is back out in the forefront with his own new EP. “I AM READY” truly delivers the goods and satisfies your need for rock. . It starts right off with a deep intro and Frank’s intense vocals, that take you into the heavy hitting title track. It is a blazin rock song filled with bad ass riffs and the song really highlight’s Frank‘s impeccable tonality in his vocals.  Turn It All Around has a cool build up intro that you will love, along with some raw edgy guitars, raging drums, and catchy lyrics. It is about time, we get more of the real rock and roll sound that Frank brings to life along with his emotionally driven lyrics. Frozen is a passionate ballad that has some soul touching lyrics and it can truly span across the rock/pop/alternative genres. Frank delivers a sincerity in his vocals in Frozen [Read More]

The String Theory captures Heart, Soul and Rock ‘n Roll with their new album.

January 2, 2014

Straight from Independence, Kentucky is one of the most promising new Indie Rock bands for 2014… The String Theory.  This powerful trio brings to life a culmination of sounds from blues, hard rock, metal, funk and so much more. In a world where so much  music has been compartmentalized to fit a genre or sub-genre standard, it is awesome to see a band just put their full attention to putting out GREAT MUSIC! That is exactly what The String Theory does. They clearly capture, Heart, Soul and Rock and Roll. The String Theory is David Cahill on Vocals and Guitar, Andrew Sterner on Bass and Vocals and Tristan Arnold on Drums. These three combined, create a big powerful sound that deserves your attention. I had the opportunity to listen to their new album, “Falling Like The Sun” and I am hooked on this band. The whole album is filled with well-written, energetic and fun songs. The album starts right off with energy and attitude on the first track, Falling Like The Sun. David Cahill’s vocals start in with a punk [Read More]

Burn Halo releases new song, Wolves of WAR

December 31, 2013

Tonight Burn Halo released their song, “Wolves of War” which is off their new album and it is INSANE!! It definitely has a deep 18 Visions influence….. Heavy! Heavy! Heavy!  It is solid and intense on all levels. Check it out here:   https://www.facebook.com/burnhalo?sk=app_182222305144028 We featured Burn Halo on our Countdown of 14 Bands that will rule 2014. You can read more from that post here.  Burn Halo  was created by James Hart (frontman of Eighteen Visions) sometime in 2007. We have had the pleasure of seeing Burn Halo about a dozen times since 2009  and they always put on an incredible show. James Hart always delivers intense energy with his vocals and Joey Roxx, their kick ass guitarist is right up front and center (well stage left to be exact!) We are excited to see Ryan Frost returned to playing rhythm guitar. When we ran in to Joey Roxx during Aftershock Festival in September and he told us to be prepared for a heavier sound and a throwback to 18 Visions roots. He also gave [Read More]
