Adler set to sail for their first live show!

August 23, 2012

Have you gotten your cabin booked yet for the Kiss Kruise?? Well, I know that if I could I would be there!! Yes, I have grown up listening to Kiss and do like their music but the number one reason for me to be there would be to see the Debut of Steven Adler’s new band; Adler.  Adler was recently added to the 2nd Kiss Kruise which is set to sail October 31, 2012 – November 4, 2012 departing from Miami, FL with a destination of Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas onboard the Norwegian Pearl. This will be the first live performance of Adler and after watching their video for their first single, ‘The One that you Hated” I am sure everyone is excited to see this band.  When you listen to them you can really appreciate the formation of an incredible band. You have Jacob Bunton of Lynam and Mars Electric on vocals whose voice reminds me of one of my favorite vocalists – Tommy Girvin (Tommy Girvin -Bulldozer Sessions and Eddie Money band), guitarist Lonny [Read More]

Laurie Ann Layne delivers “Local Honey”

August 15, 2012

Get ready to call her Local Honey! Independent Nashville Rocker/Blues artist Laurie Ann Layne releases her new debut single, “Local Honey” and it will have you moving and grooving right from the start. As soon as I listened to the first few seconds I was in awe of Laurie Ann’s voice. It reminds me of the first time I heard Chrissy Hynde of the Pretenders. Laurie Ann delivers a fun and flirty sound to Nashville rock with the perfect touch of blues intertwined  in this song similar to early Cher. But even with these references, Laurie Ann in no way imitates; she has her own unique and powerful sound that will be taking over Nashville in no time and having everyone singing the catchy chorus. Laurie Ann will be releasing her EP later out this winter and I will keep you updated as to an official date. For the single “Local Honey” the official release date is September 4th, 2012 and it will be available for sale on Itunes and Amazon. For now you can [Read More]

Serious Bus Crash for Baroness in England

August 15, 2012

I just got word that one of the band’s that I am set to review this month was involved in a serious bus crash. Baroness is a progressive metal/rock/punk band that is from Savannah, Georgia and were recently touring in England. These guys sing, “Take My Bones Away” which has been steadily played on Octane Sirius and is from their new album; “Yellow and Green”. More on their music at a later time, now the details of the crash. It has been reported that they had been travelling from their Bristol show at the Fleece heading to South Hampton and their bus fell 30 ft from a viaduct near Bath. Emergency services were called out to Brassknocker Hill in Monkton Combe at the intersection of B3108 and A36 Westminster Road at 11:30 BST. Firefighters arrived on the scene with 7 of the 9 passengers outside the bus and they had to utilize their hydraulic cutting equipment to free the remaining 2 passengers. Signum A.D. new EP set to release this month!

August 14, 2012

Guess what I got this week?? The upcoming new EP from Signum A.D. “Veto the Vultures Vol. 1”.  I was really excited to hear new music from them.  Being that Elliott Ecton is the only original member of the band as of August 2011, I was pleased to hear what a great sound his new band has.  The new lineup with Elliott consists of Blake Mattea (guitar), Justin Mattea (bass), Angel Delgado (drums), and Sammy Vincent (vocals). The first song on the EP which is going to be their first single and is already hitting the airwaves is “Chemical Lifeline”. It comes at you full force and delivers the energy and rock sound that I love. It reminds me a bit of Black Stone Cherry or Hinder which is a good thing! It has a great southern rock feel. The vocals of Sammy emit intensity and energy that comes across through all their songs. On “Let it Out” you really get to enjoy powerful guitar work, heavy drums and cool guitar bends. Then they follow up [Read More]

The Time is now for “Another Lost Year”

August 12, 2012

Allow me to introduce you to a great new band that hails from Charlotte, NC,  “Another Lost Year”. Once you take a listen, I am sure you will be hearing a lot more of this band. Another Lost Year was voted 2011 Rock Band of the Year in the Carolinas and this year they are ready to take over the airwaves with their Hard Rock/Alternative Metal sound. Over the past year, they have played with some of my favorite bands; Pop Evil, Rev Theory, Royal Bliss, Nonpoint, 10 Years, Flyleaf, Soulicit and 30 Seconds to Mars. I was recently given their new album “Better Days” (produced by Justin Rimer – 12 Stones) to review and it has been some time since I have listened to an album for a review and immediately have added it to my regular daily playlist. That is how awesome this album was for me. They bring such a great sound and style to their music which is reminiscent of early LIVE.  Their lyrics resonate with  deep emotion and bring the [Read More]

Interview

Spend some time with Fall from Grace

July 19, 2012

“Too many people settle for ordinary lives when they are extraordinary people” – That is one of my most favorite pieces of advice and it came from my interview with Tryg Littlefield of Fall From Grace. Fall From Grace is a five piece Rock band hailing from Seattle. They recently toured with Saving Abel and we had a chance to catch up with Tryg Littlefield; vocals and rhythm guitar for the band. These guys bring so much energy and emotion into their songs that leave the listener with a deeper connection to them. I really enjoy their music and look forward to seeing them out on the road. We will have our full audio interview on the webzine but until then, I wanted to share some of the interview with you all. Music Junkie Press:      I understand you recently released your third full length album called The Romance Years. I have to tell you I love it. I have listed to it and loved it! I love what I hear on this album. You actually bring [Read More]
