Linda Perry’s Make or Break Project winner Hemming set to release new album

June 11, 2015

Hemming  was first introduced to the world through VH1’s Make or Break : The Linda Perry Project as one half of the Philadelphia punk duo Omar. Make or Break was developed by superstar producer and songwriter Linda Perry as the antithesis to reality music shows.  Martello joined the show as part of a band, but it was her solo work and a song called “Vitamins” that caught Perry’s attention and started Martello on the journey of finding and developing the voice of Hemming. At the conclusion of the show Martello was presented with the opportunity to make a record with Perry and that record is set to release on July 24th . The debut will mark the re-launch of Perry’s label, Custard Records. Hemming’s vocals draw you in and wraps you in a blanket of emotion. She brings out a honest rawness when she sings, which is so welcoming these days. She truly shines as an artist. Alt-Folksinger Level and The Square premiere new video

June 11, 2015

Alternative folksinger songwriter, Level and The Square are premiering a  new video for their track, Like Stones. The song is from the artist’s debut album From Here to the James highlighting singer/songwriter Nik Piscitello’s soulful voice and melodic guitar reminiscent of artists like Iron & Wine or City and Colour. Check out the video here:   The nostalgic video comes from “Piscitello’s concept of the video came from using old etiquette footage on how to date as a metaphor for how we can never really be perfect in a relationship no matter how much we try. The end when the couple jumps back on the phone and we cut to driving footage represents the moment when you just take off in your relationship and the many roads you will travel along the way.” Nik’s vocals truly carry a depth of emotion that is floating a soulful sea. You check out his complete album From Here to the James which iss available for purchase digitally on iTunes and more. Make sure to visit his social media sites so you can stay up [Read More]

Ashley Xtina releases empowering new song, I Choose Me

May 22, 2015

We have featured several times the amazingly talented Ashley Xtina and her powerful vocals wrapped in emotionally driven lyrics. She has just released another new song and it is truly beautiful and empowering.  Her new track, I Choose Me delivers a much needed message to all. Ashley comments on the inspiration for the song, “The inspiration for this song came at a time in my life when everything seemed to be falling apart and while I knew I should do some things, it seems as if I MUST do others. At the end of the day, if you don’t pursue your dreams, no one will. So that’s why I choose me from now on. That’s the message I’m trying to spread 🙂 ”  The song really does encapsulate that message of how in a world where you could be tugged in so many directions, trying to please everyone,  the person you must focus on first, is yourself. It reminds me of the truth in one of my favorite quotes, “When you say ‘Yes’ to others, [Read More]
