Falling Through April deliver a straight up bad ass set at Regency Ballroom

October 11, 2014

This past week we were at The Regency Ballroom for the Adelita’s Way and The Pretty Reckless show at The Regency Ballroom. I was unfamiliar with the opening band, Falling Through April but that has since changed! After catching their high energy and rockin set, I am definitely hooked. They have an alternative rock style that just captured the crowd from start to finish. Their music has hints of a pop punk style yet with a much more refined rock edge, almost like a blend of early Escape the Fate and AFI.  It is refreshing to see a band forge ahead with their own unique sound and not follow the cookie cutter bands that seemed to perfectly fit into a genre or subgenre checkbox. These guys also have great stage presence as they won over the crowd at The Regency. Falling Through April are from Charlotte, NC and have been around since 2011. I am bummed I haven’t heard of them sooner but am glad I do now. It was nice to see how they [Read More]

Concert Review: Black Veil Brides Black Mass Tour 2014 – O2 Academy Brixton, London

October 11, 2014

Concert Review – Black Veil Brides – Black Mass Tour 2014 – O2 Academy Brixton, London, Oct. 4th 2014 Contributed by Alexandra –  Twitter; https://twitter.com/lexi22473_b  Arriving at the venue, there’s already a big crowd lining up around the block. The end of the line reached the start and they asked everyone to get closer together, so there’s enough place for everyone to queue. With opening the doors at 7 pm, the crowd was off and started moving. People with O2 phones got in first and the rest followed through quickly. Inside, Drama Club already started their set. The steady beat of their tunes got the crowd going. Part of their set was a remix of Andy Black’s (Andy Biersacks moniker), “They Don’t Need To Understand“. If they didn’t have everyone on their side, now they had. Even though they don’t play a classic rock sound they fit in pretty good. Next on were UK residents Fearless Vampire Killers. They were obviously known to many people. Singers/guitarists Kier Kemp and Laurenence Beveridge switch singers position after a [Read More]

Check out the new video by ALESSO for Heroes (we could be) featuring Tove Lo

October 11, 2014

The Grammy nominated Swedish DJ/produer ALESSO has just released his new music video for his song, Heroes (we could be) which features Tove Lo. The video stars ALESSO and Tove Lo as themselves and directed by Emil Nava, the video follows a group of children with secret, supernatural powers who are locked up and forced to hide their true identities–until our hero arrives to set them free in emphatic fashion. Tapping into his willingness to push boundaries, ALESSO’s style resonates through his videos and his live shows; his recent video for “Tear The Roof Up” was shot entirely in monochrome and based around the concept of Alpha and Omega and a journey through heaven and hell. Check out the video here: The song is set to release on November 16th. ALESSO will be returning to the US for a headlining show at The Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles on November 22 having previously sold out the venues on his world-dominating “Uprising” tour last year. There is also a show planned for San Francisco at this year’s Spookfest. [Read More]

The WHO announce 50th Anniversary Tour for 2015!

October 11, 2014

I can still remember a vivid memory of the first time I listened to The Who. I was a young kid in the 1970’s and I could hear the wailing guitar and fierce vocals of The Who coming from my older brother’s room. I was drawn to it as I got closer and closer to get more of my fix of my craving for Rock n Roll. My older sisters were busy playing the latest disco tunes and practicing their dance moves but that was no match to the fire that The Who ignited in me. I loved the raw intensity of their music and how it’s organic sound just spoke to me, a rebellious young child who refused to be my sister’s dance partner any more. I wanted….. ROCK N ROLL and The Who were there to welcome me with open arms! The Who are turning 50 years old and their music still grabs me every time I hear it, whether it be catching My Generation, or reminiscing as I listen to songs from [Read More]
