Strange Talk from Australia captures the crowd in San Francisco

March 22, 2014

Strange Talk were quite busy performing nine shows at SXSW this year and then they set out to tour with Sounds. Last night Melbourne, Australian alternative pop band, Strange Talk performed in San Francisco at the Regency Ballroom. These guys have a great new refreshing sound. They blend a bit of the eighties pop with a touch of 90’s electro and then wrapped into their own  edgy style. Strange Talk is set to release their self-produced debut album Cast Away on April 29th via Wind-Up Records. All songs on the album were mixed by Tony Hoffer (M83, Phoenix) with the exception of “Climbing Walls,” “Eskimo Boy” and “Is It Real?” which were mixed by Eliot James (Bloc Party, Two Door Cinema Club). One thing is for sure, Strange Talk truly capture their studio sound and bring it to life on the stage. The crowd loved them and they captured the hearts of San Francisco. One of the highlights was when they perfomed their new single, “Young Hearts”. I am absolutely in love with this song. It is an upbeat fun song with a catchy [Read More]

Interview with Dirty Groove Rockers CROBOT as they take over the DNA in San Francisco!

March 22, 2014

I have been looking forward to covering a lot of shows this month, but none as much as Crobot. Crobot is a four piece band from Pennsylvania that have a Dirty Groove Rock sound. They are like no other band out there today. Crobot is bringing the life back into classic rock/ stoner rock  with a double dose of groove in a modern style. Think like Zep ala Soundgarden with a side of Wolfmother. They have such a killer sound that is groove heavy, riff rock or as they say: “Bang your head and shake your ass at the same time“. That is the perfect way to describe it it. One thing they are not lacking is ENERGY and you definitely can’t miss them. We were excited to have them coming to San Francisco and we caught up with them before playing their set at the DNA Lounge. Here is that interview: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAsz-bxPDqk&feature=youtu.be]   These guys are so much fun and they all have an infectious laugh. Their personalities light up the room on and [Read More]

Interview with Eyes Set To Kill as they Infect San Francisco with their amazing performance!

March 22, 2014

Earlier this week, we had the opportunity to catch Eyes Set To Kill in San Francisco at the DNA Lounge. They have been busy on tour for the “Revolver Hottest Chicks in Hard Rock Tour” and were performing at the intimate upstairs stage at the DNA Lounge. For the tour, they have been playing larger venues and it was great to catch them in this smaller setting as they played with Cilver and San Francisco band The Light Iris. We caught up with the band just after soundcheck and are pleased to bring you that interview here: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTTLxVlg_k0&feature=youtu.be]   After The Light Iris warming up the crowd with some great metal core and a  great set by Cilver, Eyes Set To Kill came out and rocked the DNA. Even though Alexia said she was losing her voice, you would have never known since they sounded every bit as awesome as always. With the recent departure of Cisco, they had an energetic rhythm guitarist play on a couple songs with them.  They also performed a couple [Read More]

Steel Panther’s new album ALL YOU CAN EAT is a face melting, panty drippin, baby makin album!

March 18, 2014

We have all been waiting anxiously for the new album All You Can Eat by Steel Panther and the time is almost among us! Only two more weeks to go!!! Well, I have to tell you a secret, I got to hear the new album today and have to say one thing…….. HOLY BALLS! THIS ALBUM IS FUCKING AWESOME!! It has everything you could want in rock and metal from anthemic rock songs, arena size ballads, blazing guitars, great harmonies, power house drums, sexy bass lines and those 80s style vocals that we can’t get enough of. There are some bad ass guitar solos, smokin riffs, catchy choruses, I just can’t tell you how epic this album will be.  The songs are fun and infectious and you can’t help but love them. Definitely a party album for any night of the week.  If they had a panty meter for this album, it would be a full on soaking wet one for this new album!  We will have to watch out for the next baby boom [Read More]

Buckcherry rocks the Heritage Theater for their Spring Tour

March 17, 2014

Buckcherry have recently begun their Spring Tour and we were lucky enough to catch them on their 2nd night at the Heritage Theater in Campbell, CA. The Heritage Theater is a historical venue that dates back to 1938 as it was built as the Campbell Union High School Auditorium. It has undergone restoration and renovations and the Heritage Theater is once again live with music and celebration. Opening for Buckcherry was local bad ass rockers, Spiralarms and British rock sensation The Virginmarys. Both bands were amazing and you can check out our features on both of them.  Buckcherry came out and rocked the house. It was awesome, there was not one person sitting as everyone was up and ready to rock. The energy was high octane and infectious as Buckcherry played a full set with old and new songs, all being fan favorites. You can check out the set list in the following photo. First, I want to tell you about the girl in the photo and give her praise as TRUE [Read More]
