Rich Ward, aka The Duke of Metal comes to the rescue!

June 23, 2014

One of our favorite heavy metal guitar shredders, Rich Ward (The Duke Of Metal) from FOZZY happens to be in the right place at the right time to rescue a baby deer. Rich found the baby deer during a run in the woods. Check out his story which he posted on his Facebook page below: A few hours ago I was going for a run at my local park, and I saw a juvenile deer out in a field about 200 yards away from me. As I got closer, I could tell that something was wrong, as it was very “wobbly”, seemed very weak, and appeared to be disoriented. I watched from about 100 feet away for a couple of minutes, looking around for it’s mother, and just trying to get a better idea of what may be wrong. I walked slowly towards the deer until I got about 10 feet away, then I got down on my knees and started to talk to it. It just walked/staggered right over to me, as to say [Read More]

Icon For Hire was one of the highlights of our Warped Tour Coverage

June 23, 2014

This year Vans Warped Tour had many great bands on several stages. It truly became hard to choose where to go and who to check out. What is great is that we still have another full day of Warped Tour to check out all the bands we did miss. Saturday was the perfect day for Warped Tour, hot but not extremely blazing as it has been in the past. There were lines that went to the back of the parking lot as early as 9:30. Nobody wanted to miss out on catching all the great bands. There is one band that I have to tell you about. After running around from the main stages to the amphitheatre stages, I found myself at the Hard Rock Kevin Says Stage at 6:30. I was there just in time for the 6:35 start of Icon For Hire which I didn’t know anything about (I know, shame on me, shake your finger at me and tell me that it was very bad that I hadn’t heard of them before!!). Sneak Peek at our Warped Tour Coverage from the Mountain View date.

June 22, 2014

Warped Tour returned yesterday to the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. It was another awesome date for the festival as this year it celebrates it’s 20th anniversary of bringing music to the masses! The weather was perfect, clear skies and sunshine all day long. The lines were long and they started early. It was great to see how long the donation line was for their early entry. Want in early? Then bring three canned goods, (Can’t be dented cans), a $5 donation or a used cell phone to the Feed Our Children NOW! tent located near the “Skip The Line” flag where you’ll receive a skip the line wristband in exchange for your donation. We had a great time covering many awesome bands that were at all the stages. Check out a sneak peek of some of the highlights of our day. We have already posted one of our Warped Tour highlights; Captain Capa  and stay tuned all week for our other band features. In addition, if you don’t see your band here, don’t worry [Read More]

Captain Capa arrives at Warped Tour and delivers an awesome set at the Beatport Stage

June 22, 2014

Yesterday, we covered day 1 of our 2 day Vans Warped Tour Coverage and stay tuned for some awesome photos and set reviews. Our first one we wanted to highlight for you was a great electronic music set by Captain Capa. Captain Capa came all the way from Germany to return and perform at this year’s Warped Tour. With a bit of visa and travel delays, yesterday ended up being the first day on Warped Tour and we were glad to catch their set. They were the final set of the night on the Beatport stage but that didn’t stop these two from giving a 110% of their energy into their dynamic EDM music that will have you dancing and moving in no time. Hannes Naumann and Maik Biermann were there to entertain and they did a stellar job at it. Their music brings in elements of rock and punk into their songs as well as pop. These two guys on the stage captured everyone’s attention as they were heading out and people couldn’t help but [Read More]

June 20, 2014

Houston’s indie 4-piece The Tontons announce new tour dates for 2014 in support of their latest LP Make Out King and Other Stories of Love. The LP was released in February and has been well received. After quite a busy schedule at this year’s SXSW and performing back to back shows, they are soon gaining everyone’s attention. The Tontons aren’t looking to slow down anytime soon and have played an impressive lineup of shows and festivals this Spring and head right into Summer with announcing their summer headlining tour..   If you are not familiar with their music, let me introduce you to The Tontons. You will be treated to the deliciously sultry vocals of Asli Omar and the immensely engaging instrumentals. It is music that opens your heart and feeds your soul, charismatic and energetic. The album Make Out King and Other Stories of Love has been described perfectly by SPIN Magazine as “40 minutes of natural charisma and steamy hooks“. Perfectly said!  One of the stand out songs on the album is the rock song, Veida and is has an infectious and flirty [Read More]
