New Years Day stops in at Slim’s in San Francisco for the We Love Tour

April 26, 2014

This week was filled with great concerts and it was awesome to see New Year’s Day again as they came to Slim’s in San Francisco on Thursday night. They are on the We Love Tour featuring Combichrist and William Control. Once again they delivered a high energy intense set that had the crowd in awe. I think they set a record for crowd surfing during a set at Slim’s which rarely tolerates. It was probably the most energetic crowd that I have witnessed at their performances, full on mosh pit, crowd participation and infectious passion raging through the crowd. As I told you the last time I saw them, they once again made lifelong fans with their set. That is what happens when you see them live, you can’t help but harness their energy and enjoy the show and join the New Years Day family! Jake Jones on the guitar is like a modern day Doyle as he stomps around feeding the masses with his energy. Nikki Misery reminds me of the charismatic Marilyn Manson and is [Read More]

April 26, 2014

What a week it has been. Last night we caught up for an interview with William Control as he came into San Francisco for his stop on the We Love our with New Year’s Day and Combichrist at Slim’s.  William has been having great success with the release of his album, The Neuromancer which is a prelude previous works; Hate Culture, Noir and Silentium Amoris and all tell the tale of the nihilistic suicidal William Control. You can check out our review of the album here. If you don’t have it yet, pick it up…. Three Words….. Cinematic Musical Masterpiece! We had the chance to chat with William before his set and are pleased to bring you that interview here: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=youtu.be/cIS9Kv9t8kA&feature=youtu.be]   William came out to a packed crowd at Slim’s and delivered a full intense high energy set that had everyone dancing around in musical bliss. Farewell My Love on the We Own The Night stop in San Francisco!

April 25, 2014

Farewell My Love are just a couple days away from wrapping up their We Own The Night Tour and we caught them as they made there stop in San Francisco.  We have been wanting to see them live for a while now, but the timing and location never did line up until this week. They came to perform at the “Above DNA” stage at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco.  One thing is for sure, they definitely did live up to our expectations, they put on an awesome set!  The stage setup at the Above DNA is very small and space is limited, but that did not stop these five from delivering a 100% energy filled performance. Farewell, My Love  have the complete package, the kick ass rocker look, charismatic personalities and are damn fine musicians that deliver KILLER ROCK n ROLL! There is no lack of adrenaline flowing through these guys and they bring life and energy to their stage performance.  They put the attention to detail and make sure to give the audience a full [Read More]

Sweden’s Heavy Metal band Wolf announce UK tour and new album

April 24, 2014

Heavy Metal band Wolf from Sweden have just finished recording their seventh studio album, DEVIL SEED which is set to release late summer through Century Media Records. ‘This time around, the wolves have teamed up with Jens Bogren (Kreator, Paradise Lost, Opeth) over at Fascination Street Studios and have delivered not only a heavy sounding release but also one chock full of clarity and complexity. With cover artwork being created once again by legendary designer Thomas Holm (Mercyful Fate, King Diamond), all the elements are aligned for this fierce slab of pure Heavy Metal mayhem.’ The album is set to release in Europe on August 25th and September 2nd in North America. Once again Wolf is bringing their signature metal style with a fresh and unique take. Founding member Niklas Stalvind says more about the album,  “I haven’t been this pleased with the songs on a WOLF album since the release of Black Wings, which scored 10/10 in Rock Hard magazine. I really think we have taking our songwriting to the next level on this one and I [Read More]
