Matt Walst to replace Adam Gontier in Three Days Grace

Breaking News today in the Music World and it pertains to some of my favorite bands and artists! It was announced today on Three Days Grace Website that Adam Gontier is leaving the band and Matt Walst of My Darkest Days will be joining TDG on their upcoming tour as singer. Matt Walst is the brother of Brad Walst, the bassist for Three Days Grace. I know, I know, it may come as a big shock. Believe me I was extremely shocked as well, especially because there has just been so many of my favorites leaving bands or moving on, or bands breaking up. It has been a lot to take in. 12 Days of Rock Christmas! Day 10 On the 10th day of Christmas my Rock and Roll love gave to me some off the hook hard rock with Jettblack from across the pond. Okay my 80’s and 90’s Rock lovers out there, here is another awesome high powered, energy driven rock band that you are going to fall in love with. I promise on this one! These guys deliver the goods and by the way, it is so nicely packaged… Jettblack are four rockers from High Wycombe, England and started back in 2007. They have cited their influences as “Anything up until 1994”. Well these guys have been touring Europe and we are waiting for our turn to Rock out to this fantastic band. 12 Days of Rock Christmas! Day 9 On the 9th day of Christmas my Rock and Roll love gave to me some sexy glam rock from Crashdiet. I have been transported back in my time machine and I am walking down the Sunset Strip in the mid 1980’s. Up and down the strip I can catch a show, anything from Glam Metal, Hair Bands, or even some Punk shows. I have my favorite pair of fringed white Zodiac Boots, bright zebra print top and my short pink skirt. Of course I have my hair in my high upstyle and tons of hairspray. This band from England is going to be on the tip of all your tongues in 2013, mark my words. These four guys have a stadium rock sound that needs to be unleashed here in the States. Adler breathes new life into Rock ‘n Roll!

It is finally here! Yes, the long wait is over. The debut record of Adler titled “Back from the Dead” has been released. This album was produced by Jeff Pilson (Foreigner, Dokken). There is even guest appearances by Steven’s former Guns ‘n Roses bandmate; Slash and the great John 5 formerly of Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie. The singles “The One That you Hated” and “Good to be Bad” have been all over the airwaves. This album is filled with great rock and roll and has everything we have been waiting to hear. It is not going to be a surprise if this album puts out more than a handful of hit singles. It is great to have an album once again where you want to buy the complete album and you listen to it from beginning to end. A Warm Embrace from Barcelona

Barcelona Barcelona is an indie rock band from Seattle, Washington formed around 2005 and I wish I had heard of them sooner. But I am glad that I do have them now in my regular playlist. Barcelona opened up for Blue October (full review here) on Saturday night (Nov. 10, 2012) and they put on an exceptional show. Their sound is piano based harmonies wrapped with edges of rock interlaced. They remind me of The Fray, Augustana or Throwing Ivory which are also some of my favorites. Brian Fennell is on piano and also provides the exceptional emotionally charged vocals. Chris Bristol beautifully entertains us on guitars and backing vocals while we get our energy recharged by Rhett Stonelake. They currently have their new CD out, “Not Quite Yours” which holds some of my favorites like “Only Son”, ‘Evermore” and “Change”.
