Good Charlotte set to release 6th studio album

Good Charlotte

The iconic pop-punk band and one of my faves, Good Charlotte are set to release a sixth studio album sometime this summer through their own indie label MDDN. They will release their first single on April 4th as well as perform several one night only shows. About their new album, the band comments,

“The new album is like our previous albums in that it’s for people who love music and are constantly motivated and trying to live a rad life. Everyone has something to prove to themselves, waking up every day and deciding to change their life for the better and help others do the same. GC has always been about doing this together, motivating each other, finding the unity and energy that exists in taking life’s challenges and coming out on the other side. It’s about being inspired and excited to be both who you are and who you want to be.”

The one off shows are:

Mon
4/18
Philadelphia, PA
TLA
Wed
4/20
Washington DC
930 Club
Thurs
4/21
NYC
Webster Hall
Fri
4/22
Boston, MA
Paradise Rock Club
Special album pre-order and tour pre-sale bundles are available starting this Wednesday at:www.goodcharlotte.com. The band explains,

“We started our journey in these clubs and expect to see a ton of friends at these special shows. It’s always been about songwriting and reaching who people who love music like we do. We now get to do things the way we always wanted and we’ll play all of our favorites and our newest songs that GC lovers will be stoked on.”

We are looking forward to the new album and hopefully some shows out West here. They released a great video for another epic anthem, Makeshift Love in 2016 after the band taking a break.  Benji comments on the break

“We had grown up inside the band and it was all we knew. We all needed to step away to find out who we were outside of it as well as do some growing personally.”
 and Joel explains,

“We got the bug and the writing just started flowing. We worked on a few records that made us realize it would be fun to make our own record again. There’s a certain record that only we can make; those Good Charlotte records. We got a little nostalgic and we went our best instincts.
