November 1, 2013

Rockers, Art of Dying from Canada have a constant spot on my daily music playlist.  Their music not only kicks ass in rock n roll but also have such emotionally charged lyrics that many can connect and relate to.  I personally, have experienced the power of healing through music by listening to my favorite Art of Dying songs at one of the hardest times in my life. It truly is music to feed your soul wrapped in blazing rock and roll.  Art of Dying is Jonny Hetherington on Vocals, Greg Bradley on Guitar, Jeff Brown on Drums, Cale Gontier on Bass/Vocals and Tavis Stanley on Guitar and Vocals. Recently, frontman Jonny Hetherington has released piano versions of a couple of their songs. God For a Day, a heartfelt favorite of mine, is now available on Itunes. You can pick it up here as well as Best I Can which is amazing too!  We recently had the chance to talk with Jonny about his piano songs and what is next in store for Art of Dying. [Read More]

August 26, 2012

I have always expressed on numerous occasions  how music has helped me through so many rough patches in my life as well as a way to celebrate the good times in my life. We all have Go To Songs. The songs that no matter what mood you are in, you can listen to it and it will provide relief, comfort, energy, happiness, inspiration, courage and just about any myriad of feelings. Growing up I even had my Go To songs. I was born in 1968 and was the youngest of 6 so I grew up listening to my older siblings’ music which I am grateful for. It led me to be have a vast appreciation of all types of music including the music of my parents’ time.  When I was young preteen, I remember one of my songs being, “Fantasy” by Earth, Wind and Fire. Show us your "Sorry" photo for Art of Dying’s new single.

February 9, 2012

As many of you know “Art of Dying” was number one on my list of bands for you to know in 2011. Well they have just released their latest single, “Sorry” from their major label debut album, “Vices and Virtues”.  Following the great success of “Die Trying” and my personal fave, “Get Thru This” which topped the Siriux XM Octane Big  Uns Countdown for the week of 1/21/12, “Sorry” delivers in a grand way. This song is a soul searching power ballad that delivers energy as well as great vocals along with some shredding guitar work. You can’t call this a simple ballad, it delivers energy, emotion and great rock and roll. Something we could all use a little more of right now. My favorite lyrics of the song; Now, I’m sorry that I left you I can’t go back  I can’t change anything The song really gets you to reevaluate choices you have made in the past or situations where we all wished could have had different outcomes. But those regrets seem to linger [Read More]
