State Line Empire releases new EP Raise Your Sins

September 30, 2013

I love new releases of music. What really gets me excited is when I have a band that I found just by them being an opening act for a headliner and have them become one of my favorite bands. It is the excitement that I get when I got to a show and not know anything about the opening bands and then be treated to a true gem of music. That is what happened several years ago as I watched State Line Empire open up for Steven Adler’s then titled band, Adler’s Appetite at the Red Devil Lounge in San Francisco. Fast forward to today and I have to share their new release with you. It is awesome! Sometimes bands come out with a new EP trying to re-invent themselves or just giving you a cookie cutter of [Read More]

Counting down to the Smile Empty Soul release of Chemicals!

September 27, 2013

Three of the most amazingly talented musicians are set to release their new album, Chemicals on October 1st. I am talking about none other than Smile Empty Soul. These guys have been around delivering incredible music with some of the best lyrics in the industry since 1998. Every time a new album comes out, I hold my breath in anticipation since so many bands after years seem to set off and re-invent themselves and come out someone else. Other bands just put a replica of their last album wrapped in new chorus. Smile Empty Soul stays true to their sound and delivers original songs that just have me applauding at every song! Well, I have heard a peak of this new album and guess what, you are so in for an UNBELIEVABLE Smile Empty Soul album!!! You might have already heard their first single of the album, False Alarm and it is awesome. These guys give a  new definition to alternative rock because they give you such depth in lyrics and style that has you [Read More]

We As Human interview and highlights from Aftershock Festival

September 18, 2013

This past weekend was one of the largest (if not, the largest!) festival in California; Monster Energy Aftershock Festival held in Sacramento over the weekend.  Saturday morning, We As Human  from Nashville, TN were the first band to play the main stage and they truly set the perfect tone for the weekend. HIGH ENERGY, IN YOUR FACE, BALLS TO THE WALL, ROCK N ROLL! Sometimes festivals start off with a band that puts out a mediocre performance and then builds them throughout the day. Well this time, that was not the case. We As Human came out and just got the crowd energized and ready to Rock. Fans with their fists in the air, came running up to the main stage as they walked through the gates, completely drawn in by their music. Who are the guys behind We As Human? Well, you have Justin Cordle on Vocals, Adam Osborne on Drums, Jake Jones and Justin Forshaw on Guitars and Dave Draggoo on Bass. Combined, you have a band that not only delivers intense music but creates a bond with [Read More]
