Interview with Jeff Berman of Divided Heaven at he makes a stop in San Francisco

September 9, 2014

This past Friday, we made it out to the DNA Lounge for a great night of music which included everything from acoustic to punk rock. Check out our coverage of all the bands here: Dead Frets, Travis Hayes and the Young Daze, ToyGuitar and of course Divided Heaven  which is the music project of Jeff Berman. This tour, he has full band in tow and they delivered an incredible energetic set of indie punk.  We had the opportunity to talk with Jeff before his set and are pleased to bring you that interview here: Jeff recently started his Youngblood Tour in support of his new album, Youngblood which was released earlier this year on Say 10 Records. One thing is for sure, he delivered an energetic set that captured the crowd’s attention and had everyone moving and singing along. His style of music can be described as indie or punk with a great emphasis on the punk. Jeff’s upbeat tempo and punk style created the perfect atmosphere for the DNA Lounge as I reminisced about the [Read More]

toyGuitar bring their high energy set to the DNA Lounge

September 8, 2014

Friday night we were treated to a night of great music. It started off with an acoustic set by  Dead Frets, then onto a fantastic indie punk set by Divided Heaven and then a spectacular set by Travis Hayes and the Young Daze. Singer/songwriter Travis Hayes. The night ended on a true to DNA form, old school punk rock set by toyGuitar. toyGuitar from San Francisco is truly a hidden treasure. I believe they might be fairly new, which I am hoping since my lack of unfamiliarity with this awesome band. They came out and performed an energetic quick paced set that fueled the Above DNA room into a frenzied mosh/dance mayhem. One thing is for sure, when they are performing you can’t stand still unless you possibly are braindead. They just infect the crowd with their intense energy and it is like a shot of adrenaline to the heart, rejuvenating all the souls in the room. Jack on vocals is grabs a hold of you with his soulful singing, Rosie is fierce on her drums and yet [Read More]

Dead Frets makes a stop in San Francsico at the DNA Lounge

September 8, 2014

Friday night was a busy one for DNA Lounge as downstairs they were performing the interactive spoof Terminator Too Judgement Play. As intrigued as I was about that, I went straight upstairs to the Above DNA stage, to catch an evening of fantastic music that included everything from acoustic, punk, indie, folk rock, and much more. We arrived early to catch Dead Frets start the night off. Dead Frets is the alter-ego musical work of Jared Stinson whom you might know from his work in his punk band, Sic Waiting.  This past summer Dead Frets were out on the Drunks Go Acoustic Tour so it was nice to see him stop in to San Francisco. Jared brings to life his emotions through acoustic song and his great voice. He also performed one of his Sic Waiting  songs and you could see hints of his punk persona peaking out. He is a story teller as well and I like the fact that he makes the audience feel as if you are sitting at your house and your [Read More]
