The Relapse Symphony take over the DNA with their straight up rock set!

June 25, 2014

We have been telling you for months now about how awesome the new album, Shadows by The Relapse Symphony is and we can’t wait for you to all hear it. Check out our full album review here. We are less than two weeks away from the release and last night, we finally got to see them perform live for the first time. The Relapse Symphony  are out on the Dead Rabbitts Shapeshift tour and they made a stop in San Francisco at the DNA Lounge. The lineup included a killer headlining set by Dead Rabbitts, double dose of vocals by Myka Relocate and some heavy metalcore by Nightmares. The set was everything we expected as The Relapse Symphony put on a full fledged rock set. Their stage presence captivated the crowd and Bret is definitely in the spotlight where he belongs. His charismatic energy grabs a hold of you as he brings a blend of punk rock attitude meshed with vintage rocker. It was awesome to hear them perform many of their new songs that we [Read More]

The Dead Rabbitts bring to life the DNA Lounge on their Shapeshifter Tour

June 25, 2014

The Dead Rabbitts made their stop in San Francisco last night for the Shapeshift Tour! We were glad to make it to the DNA Lounge after a relentless 2 and a half hour traffic stop ride from Santa Rosa. As soon as the music hit, all our troubles went away and we were instantly in a good mood. The night started off with great sets by NightMares, Myka Relocate and The Relapse Symphony. Make sure to stay tuned for our individual band coverage coming on each of them. Then the time came for us to receive a savage dose of metalcore complete with infectious melodies, fierce hooks and always a catch chorus. The Dead Rabbitts hit the stage.  What is really special about their music is, that it can’t be described as simply “metalcore” because The Dead Rabbitts have brought much more depth and layers to their music. Whether it be violins, keyboards, symphonic element, they are bringing a much needed facelift to metalcore. The charismatic personality of Craig Mabbitt truly shines through his music and [Read More]

Cherri Bomb lights up the DNA Lounge in SF with their fantastic “MUST SEE” set!

June 4, 2014

Sunday night we trekked down to San Francisco to catch Cherri Bomb play at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco. It was a night filled with great bands, many were from Santa Rosa like us. All the bands were great and will bring you individual coverage on them to include, Oh! The Horror, A Hero To Fall, Chapters, and Awoken Shadows. Cherri Bomb is: We had the chance to talk with Cherri Bomb before their set and are pleased to bring that interview to you here: Now, let me tell you about the spectacular set that Cherri Bomb performed. These four have infectious charismatic personalities that perfectly translate through their music. The crowd was instantly jolted with energy as they took the stage. They were playing at the Above DNA and as I have told you before it is very limited on stage size but these four dominated it.   Miranda not only holds down the rhythm guitar but delights us as she plays the keyboard and also should receive high praise for her powerful [Read More]

Sunflower Dead at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco

May 21, 2014

Last week we covered the amazing Born To Ride 2 Tour at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco with (hed) P.E. and SOiL and it was quite a night. Opening up for them was the great new theatrical Metal/Rock band Sunflower Dead. Wow, what a show these guys put on. Sunflower Dead are based out of Long Beach and this was the first time I heard of them. I was glad we made it to the show early enough to catch them because their set was one not to be missed! Sunflower Dead is: Michael – vocals, piano, accordion Jaboo – lead guitar Jamie Teissiere – guitar Leighton “Lats” Kearns – bass Jimmy Schultz – drums What I really like about them is their stage presence and they bring the theatrical side to their music as each member is a unique character with face paint and stage outfits. They then come to life with their music as it takes you to a dark aggressive journey with fierce metal and hard rock that will have you [Read More]

May 20, 2014

This past Saturday at the legendary Whisky a Go Go was a night that many will remember. Skid Row was making a stop at the legendary venue for their United World Rebellion Tour. It was a sold out show and the venue was packed with a crowd that was ready to ROCK!  The opening bands, Ragdoll, No More Solace, State Line Empire, and Shattered Sun all put on excellent sets. We just caught them at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco earlier in the week and they were so spectacular that we wouldn’t miss their Hollywood show. Skid Row has been filling up venue after venue and everyone in attendance will surely agree that they put on an amazing performance.  Skid Row is: Johnny Solinger (vocals) Scotti Hill (guitar) Rachel Bolan (bass) Snake Sabo (guitar) Rob Hammersmith (drums) Once again, they sounded great and Johnny killed it on vocals.  Scotti and Snake are madmen on their guitars as they each dominated their area and commanded the attention of the audience with their amazing guitar work. Black Star Riders KILLED it at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco

May 15, 2014

We were at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco earlier this week to watch one of our favorite bands, State Line Empire play as they were set to open up for Skid Row. In addition to the great warm up by The Devil In California, State Line Empire put on a fantastic set. Then up next was Black Star Riders, if you are not familiar with them as I wasn’t… Black Star Riders is comprised of members of Thin Lizzy…. YES! You heard me right, Thin Lizzy! Black Star Riders began in 2012 as Thin Lizzy announced they would not be recording new material under the Thin Lizzy name. Hence a new band formed, a new name and Black Star Riders was born. In addition to the Thin Lizzy alumni Ricky Warwick (vocals), Scott Gorham (guitar), Damon Johnson (guitar), Marco Mendoza (bass) is Jimmy DeGrasso on drums (Alice Cooper, Megadeth, David Lee Roth, Suicidal Tendencies). The band was amazing and they played an energetic non stop set that have everyone in the audience packed to the front [Read More]
