The Dead Rabbitts bring to life the DNA Lounge on their Shapeshifter Tour

IMG_0265

The Dead Rabbitts made their stop in San Francisco last night for the Shapeshift Tour! We were glad to make it to the DNA Lounge after a relentless 2 and a half hour traffic stop ride from Santa Rosa. As soon as the music hit, all our troubles went away and we were instantly in a good mood. The night started off with great sets by NightMares, Myka Relocate and The Relapse Symphony. Make sure to stay tuned for our individual band coverage coming on each of them.

Then the time came for us to receive a savage dose of metalcore complete with infectious melodies, fierce hooks and always a catch chorus. The Dead Rabbitts hit the stage.  What is really special about their music is, that it can’t be described as simply “metalcore” because The Dead Rabbitts have brought much more depth and layers to their music. Whether it be violins, keyboards, symphonic element, they are bringing a much needed facelift to metalcore.

The charismatic personality of Craig Mabbitt truly shines through his music and not mention, he is quite the comedian. Craig’s vocals can evoke a range of emotions and can take you from powerful to subtle as he sings his emotionally driven lyrics. You really are held captive by his voice.  TJ Bell is a madman on the bass as he delivers his slamming basslines and treats us to his backing vocals. Alex unleashes his energy as he tears across the stage wielding his guitar and never missing a note. The drummer, (I think Rob? whom I believe is new or possibly filling in) did a fantastic job with his precision drumming.

It is awesome to see The Dead Rabbitts on tour performing, just in time for their new album Shapeshifter set to release on July 1st. They treated us to many new songs off the album, including my personal favorite, Edge of Reality and of course the intensely ferocious Bats in the Belfry.

The energy that these guys bring out are well deserving of your attention. This is a band who enjoy performing as much as I enjoyed watching them. They bleed out the passion through their music and raise the level of adrenaline in the room. They are not to be ignored and I urge you to catch them out on the Shapeshift Tour. Get ready to unleash the intense and addictive music of The Dead Rabbitts.
