KISS live in Germany – May 2017

April 24, 2017

This May KISS finally come back to Germany for four shows. They’ll play the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund on May 12th, the Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart on May 13th, the Olympiahalle in Munich on May 18th and the Festhalle in Frankfurt on May 23rd. They haven’t been to Stuttgart in almost a decade and Frankfurt and Dortmund even had to wait 18 years for KISS to come back. During their European Tour in May 2017 they’ll also play in Russia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Austria and the Netherlands. ‘You Wanted The Best, You Got The Best’ is what the band promises now for four decades. Loved for their elaborate and spectacular stage shows, KISS give their fans nothing less than the ultimate concert experience. The bombastic light-show and the distinctive pyrotechnic effects at an ‘over the top-level’ made KISS concerts the ‘world’s biggest rock-show’. Mega-hits like ‘Rock And Roll All Night’, ‘Detroit Rock City’ and ‘I Was Made For Loving You’ are classics in Rock history. The stage outfit and make-up of the four musicians made them immortal [Read More]

Concert Review: Ministry, Backstage Werk, Munich, 08/08/2016 by Alex Bock

August 11, 2016

Just one band was announced for that night and that was Ministry. A rare guest on our stages, therefore a lot of people were expected. About an hour before show start the venue was still really quiet. Oftentimes people come later for the shows, since there’s 98 out of 100 times opening bands and some just come for the headliners. But at around 8 pm the venue was packed and by 8.15 pm the photo pit was full and everyone was excited for Ministry. Behind the drums, which were set on a riser, was a big screen showing images throughout the whole show. One by one the band members entered the stage, when finally Al Jourgensen came, with a black mask for the first few minutes of ‘Hail’. That night they played 18 songs with two short breaks towards the end, marking the encores. One of them was a cover song called ‘Gates Of Steel’ from the band Devo. Al said they were tired of playing Ministry songs, so they chose this one and he [Read More]

Concert review The Word Alive with Coyotes, Polar and Annisokay. Contributed by Alex Bock

June 1, 2016

Wiesbaden, Schlachthof, May 23rd, 2016 This time I made a bit of a longer trip to cover a show for you and I chose the Schlachthof in Wiesbaden. The venue was recently rebuilt. It reopened at the end of 2015. Everything is still shiny and new and it’s a nice venue of the small and cozy kind. Just two months after the release of their recent record ‘Dark Matter’ The Word Alive went out on European Tour that included, besides a few German dates, also Slam Dunk Festival dates in the UK. By the time you read this, the tour is over and they’re back in the US relaxing and probably rehearsing for the upcoming Warped Tour Cycle, which the band will be on again. But back to the Wiesbaden show. Telle and Dani took their time to sit down with us and talk about the tour, the record, Warped Tour and much more. Check the interview out here: Show started around 7 pm. The Word Alive had three support bands, two of them [Read More]

Concert Review Neck Deep with WSTR and Creeper at the Strom

April 17, 2016

Munich, April 11th, 2016 It was an all English evening last Monday. When we got to the venue about 30 minutes before doors there weren’t that many people already waiting outside, so we were curious how many would show up that night. Turned out, the club was pretty packed…. WSTR were the first to hit the stage. Their set was very well received. The Liverpool based band released their EP last year September. Check it out. If you like Neck Deep, you’ll like them too. Second opener were Creeper. They just recently released an EP ‚The Stranger‘ not that long ago. They definitely brought along some fans to that show. There were quite a few people already singing along to their songs. It’s been their first time in Germany, but I’m sure it won’t be their last. Neck Deep, the headliner of the night, really tore the place apart. Or should I say their fans did? From the first tunes to the last note the crowd jumped, staged dived and sang along to each and [Read More]
