Prepare to be blown away by Centerlink

May 16, 2013

People ask me all the time how do I find my new music. There are so many ways, I get submissions daily, facebook messages, twitter and so much more. Sometimes you just happen to be in the right spot at the right time and you find a treasure! Today I have to tell you about the treasure I found completely accidental. As you know we went to Revolver Golden Gods Awards and we had bestowed upon the great David Draiman (Device and Disturbed) and his wife the award of Best Dressed Couple. I was on Twitter and ran across a tweet (you can see it in the photo slideshow) from a band that sent David Draiman a message about their music. I went to watch it and was BLOWN AWAY. Seriously just BLOWN AWAY. I thought I had found the lost recording of Metallica of 1985!  I went back to check the message so I could see the band name only to see David’s response to them about how the singer had some Hettfield in [Read More]

Killed the Fixtion brings back the truth to Heavy Metal!

April 19, 2013

Sometimes I miss the simpler times when I think of music, but then again you have to appreciate what this digital era has done for us in finding new bands or new music.  Before, long, long ago there was a time when the only way I found out about new bands was either from listening to friend’s mix tapes or we would head out to the record store. Maybe Rainbow Records, Tower or Wherehouse – the usual teenage hangout. We would scour the aisles of records and even get to listen to new bands.  Well, fast forward thirty years and the next band I am going to share with you came from a little birdy, a little blue birdy….. Twitter!! It is great to find new bands.  The band I wanted to share with you is a heavy metal/rock band, “Killed the Fixtion“. These four guys come from Hillside and Newark, New Jersey. Together they have shared their love for all types of music from punk rock to heavy metal and everything in between. The [Read More]

Revolver Golden Gods Awards 2013 Viewing Party Guide

March 13, 2013

Party Planning Guide for Revolver Golden Gods Awards 2013! As you know from my recent post about the Oscars, we don’t throw parties to watch the award shows unless it is the Revolver Golden Gods Awards. Well, with the awards being only 6+ weeks ago, we have to get started in planning your perfect Revolver Golden Gods Awards Viewing Party!  The date for the show is May 2, 2013. 4 to 5 Weeks before your party Make an Invitation List. Here is where you have to really tailor your list to the right audience. When you are drawing up your list of names; ask yourself some questions about the guests so you know you are targeting the right guests. The last thing you want at your party is someone asking over and over is Kanye going to sing?,  or Who is Metallica? or even worse, what is this Revolver thing – thought it was a gun??? Time to show them the door and you may want to rethink them as your friend at that point!! [Read More]

From the Fallen delivers pure adrenaline

February 11, 2013

From the Fallen = Pure Adrenaline Get ready for to be infused with energy by this female fronted metal rock band, From the Fallen. From the first time you hear them the adrenaline flows through your veins as you get ready to rock hard and heavy. This four piece band Metal band formed in 2009 and comes from Fresno, California and they are ready to take over and command you listen to them! I just love their energy and high powered rock. From the Fallen is fronted by Amber McConnell and her incredibly powerful vocals, Brandon McConnell yielding some awesome guitars,  Harry Garvin lays down the bass and Christopher Heil delivers heavy hitting precision drums. They are a combination that is fierce in so many ways! Reminding me of Halestorm, Disturbed and Flyleaf. If you are needing some adrenaline in your veins to get you off your feet and ready to rock, then this band is the one to deliver it and they have a  new album that you have to get your hands on! It is called [Read More]

Halestorm coming to San Francisco!

September 9, 2012

It is a great day today! I got my tickets to see one of my favorite bands, Halestorm at one of my favorite venues in San Francisco, Slim’s!! I just found out that Halestorm is returning to the San Francisco Bay Area. I am so glad because I have been trying to see Halestorm live for a few years now. First I was supposed to see them in SoCal and my trip got cancelled then they were coming to the Bay Area last year and that show got cancelled. The funny thing is that I have had the great opportunity of meeting them several times at other shows.  They are an awesome bunch of individuals! The first being when they played with Corey Taylor at his Las Vegas Hard Rock Show in 2010 and then again at his 2011 show. Then they came to San Francisco and I ended up in Las Vegas covering another show!! I was so mad.  We got to meet them again at the NAMM 2011 and NAMM 2012 shows and [Read More]
