Killed the Fixtion brings back the truth to Heavy Metal!

Sometimes I miss the simpler times when I think of music, but then again you have to appreciate what this digital era has done for us in finding new bands or new music.  Before, long, long ago there was a time when the only way I found out about new bands was either from listening to friend’s mix tapes or we would head out to the record store. Maybe Rainbow Records, Tower or Wherehouse – the usual teenage hangout. We would scour the aisles of records and even get to listen to new bands.  Well, fast forward thirty years and the next band I am going to share with you came from a little birdy, a little blue birdy….. Twitter!! It is great to find new bands.  The band I wanted to share with you is a heavy metal/rock band, “Killed the Fixtion“. These four guys come from Hillside and Newark, New Jersey. Together they have shared their love for all types of music from punk rock to heavy metal and everything in between.

The great thing about this band is not only their heavy kick ass music but they also have an incredible message behind their music. They grew up no stranger to gangs  and gang activity, and used their music to “get rid of the negative false sense of  identiy, or fiction in one’s life”.  Music was their outlet and they have delivered a sound that just really invokes bad ass metal. It is almost like Pantera sprinkled with some Sevendust and Stevie Ray Vaughn all at the same time! You will love them, I know I am getting hooked. The true sound of a great band these days is when I am playing them and my 15 year old son and his friends come in from band practice to listen and ask “Who is that?” “They are intense!, Love them!”

That is what happened tonight when I was blaring their song, “Moonlite Blue” and then “Pulse”.  They also do an incredible version of “Nutshell” from Alice in Chains that just is smooth and beautiful. I am looking to hearing more from these guys and I will see if I can bring you an interview with them. For now, check out their music on Soundcloud or right on their website.  Also, if you sign up for their email mailing list you can receive free music. Once you listen, you will be part of the Killed The Fixtion  family.  “We just want to meet everyone who listens to our music. Enjoy!”  So take a listen and go to  follow/like them on their social media sites so you can get to know them too! Tell your friends and you can all be part of the KTF family!

Check out this video of their Alice in Chains Tribute of “Nutshell”. It will give you chills…
