Stone Sour release new song/video and announce European/UK tour dates

Stone Sour introduced a new video for ‘Song #3’. It’s the second release from their upcoming record ‘Hydrograd’. Corey Taylor treats fans to an eclectic acoustic set at That Metal Show Concert

We have been telling you about all the great sets at the first ever That Metal Show concert which was held at Thunder Valley Resort in Lincoln, CA last Friday. It was great seeing the hosts of VH1’s That Metal Show as they introduced all the great bands. Make sure to check out our coverage of Living Colour and Anthrax too. But now, let us tell you about the great eclectic set that Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour) delivered. Corey played a little bit of everything during his acoustic set. First, I have to tell you about the blazing heat as it was well over 100 degrees and I can only imagine how hot it was on that stage. I have to give a big kudos to all the great bands as they put on spectacular performances. Corey was there in the heat and he gave his 125% as always treating the crowd to his captivating vocals. Christian Martucci of Thousand Watt Stare will join Stone Sour on new tour

I know I have told you before that I love Christian Martucci’s music. I have my Ipod filled with great songs from Christian’s past and they are some of my favorite songs. From “Nowhere Ride” by The Chelsea Smiles to “Last Fucking Hope” by Black President and to “Shine”, “Downsider” and “Lights Out” from “Thousand Watt Stare“. Not to mention Christian’s solo project, “Man Without a Name”. Christian is just purely awesome on guitar and vocals. He has such a great unique sound that just draws you in and energizes you. He is like liquid adrenaline running through your veins. Well, Stone Sour recently announced their upcoming tour which is set to start in January in Florida. They also made an announcement that due to the upcoming Slipknot album, guitarist Jim Root will not be heading out on tour with them. The Music Junkie Press “After Golden Gods Awards” Awards!!

Well I am home from my trip to the 5th Revolver Golden Gods Awards which took place last week at the Club Nokia in Los Angeles. I hope all of you had a great time watching the Black Carpet and the award show live on XBOX, Facebook or AXS TV. There was so many great stories to share from that night, some we may have to keep quiet; but all in all it was a fantastic show. Sadly, hours before the Black Carpet, we got word of the passing of the great Jeff Hanneman from Slayer who died at the young age of 49 from liver failure. The night soon became filled with stories about Jeff and tributes to our fallen hero. Many drinks were shared and toasted to the life of Jeff and he will be greatly missed.
