Interview with Doyle as he is out on the Annihilate America Tour!

Legendary Ex-Misfits guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein has broken new ground with his solo project, “DOYLE”. His horror based hardrock metal band is currently out on their Annihilate America Tour! One thing is for sure, Doyle is bringing the intensity and energy to stages across the US. Doyle is amazing on guitar, he has this larger than hulk like presence and kicks out his smoking guitar riffs. An Interview with Jeff Nisen of Lose Control by Patrick O’Heffernan

Los Angeles. Patrick O’Heffernan. Lose Control just wrapped up a 40-day tour which they delightfully chronicled on their web site in daily (well, almost daily) tour notes. Following the band on the tour has been almost as much fun as listening to them, and they are a lot of fun to listen to. This is heavy metal, but with a few twists, including dual guitar leads. Everybody in the band is very, very talented and nobody in the band is egotistical – they play together like clockwork and the result is a sound of beauty. Jeff Nisen co-founded the band with A.J. Bartholomew down the road from me in Hermosa Beach in 2011. They had been playing music together since they were in middle school together. Memphis May Fire have been quite busy touring in support of their new album, Unconditional. There is no stopping these guys and we are glad to see them coming to perform at this year’s Aftershock Festival. One thing is for sure, get ready for an incredible set. Memphis May Fire are adrenaline fueled and when they hit the stage, they bring it at a 150%. Vocalist, Matty Mullins completely takes control of the crowd and has everyone engaged from the start. These guys have great stage presence and it will be awesome to see them take over at Aftershock. Havok announce their headlining “Until The Thrash Takes us” Tour in Mexico

Denver heavy thrashers Havok have been busy touring overseas which took them all over Europe. Approaching Fiction delivered an energetic set of hard rock at The Phoenix Theater

Last Friday, we trekked out to Petaluma and the historical venue of The Phoenix for a night of live music and great bands. I wish more people would make an effort to get out to live shows. The Phoenix has always been a crap shoot and you never know what type of crowd you will get. It might have been a light crowd, but Approaching Fiction delivered a set as if they were playing to a sold out arena. Approaching Fiction are from San Diego were making a stop in Petaluma for their Outbreak Tour. They bring a fierce dose of hard rock with metal edge. Their guitar heavy songs energize amid some fluid basslines, we were even treated to a bad ass bass solo. The precision drumming brings it all together with the powerful vocals igniting your senses. This was the first time I had seen Approaching Fiction but definitely not the last!
