Just Friends release new song “Basic” – new album “Hella” out March 4th

January 24, 2022

Leave it to Just Friends to make being called “basic” cool. The Bay Area crew’s highly-anticipated new album, Hella, will finally arrive on March 4 from Pure Noise Records (pre-order here), and its first single “Basic” ft. Lil B + Hobo Johnson is out today. From its triumphant opening and an impossibly catchy hook to the image of Lil B and Hobo Johnson “at the mooooo-vies,” the song finds these Northern California superheroes embracing all the things they love about their crew. In a time where close-knit groups are more encouraged than ever, “Basic” is an anthem about the simple life and spending time with your best friends doing whatever. “This song happened by accident!” laughs vocalist Samuel Kless (he/him). After a chance encounter during a protest last summer led to Lil B’s verse on the song “Stupid,” an unlikely collaborative kinship began to form and the Based God asked if there were any more tracks he could jump on. “Basic caught me by surprise, it’s so funny and silly, it makes me laugh and [Read More]

Belmont announce new album and share video for new song “Parasitic”

January 24, 2022

Chicago, IL- Progressive-punk quartet, Belmont, have announced their new album Aftermath, which is out March 4th, 2022 via Pure Noise Records. First single “Parasitic” serves as a darker and heavier take on Belmont’s boisterous sound. Aftermath, the band’s Pure Noise Records debut album, produced by the billion-streamed Andrew Wade (A Day To Remember, Neck Deep, Real Friends), is driving a chasm between Belmont and their peers with a stunning evolution. Led by the classical training of Inguagiato and Lada, both of whom studied at Berklee College of Music, as well as the pure instinctual prowess of the collective, Aftermathbrings never-before-heard influences to the forefront in a brand-new way. In a landscape more genre-less than ever, it’s the seamless, at-times effortless blending of disparate sounds that guides Aftermath on a hyper-modern tour through musical styles – steadied by the pop-punk energy that’s won Belmont legions fans on tours. The opening strains of album kick-off “Fully Sent” – trilling trap drums buoyed by a distorted vocal sample – will leave listeners wondering if they in fact chose [Read More]

Wolves At The Gate drop “Lights & Fire” video

January 24, 2022

Wolves At The Gate have announced their fifth album “Eulogies”. It arrives on March 11 via Solid State Records. The band has also shared the video for the new track “Lights & Fire”, a dynamic track, which boasts anthemic choruses and a cinematic and quiet mid-section that builds to an epic crescendo. “While all of these songs were quite personal for me, this one held a different weight, as it related to a number of the most painful parts of my life. It showed me how I was holding onto things that were actually destructive to me” shares vocalist/guitarist Steve Cobucci “It was the first time that I truly felt alone. I had to end a relationship that I put a lot of hope in. Soon afterward, I got robbed. My laptop, recording gear, guitars, amps — all gone. I didn’t have the money to replace things. Soon after, I tore my ACL and meniscus, which was a blow to my aspirations to play soccer for a living. All these things combined left me feeling [Read More]

The Rumjacks new single “Bounding Main” out NOW

January 22, 2022

The Rumjacks released another new song from their upcoming EP, due out March 18th. “Bounding Main” is an explosive and infectious tune that perfectly utilizes all the best elements of the Celtic Punk genre. Galloping out of the gates with the strong banjo, mandolin, and accordion lead, the track pulses with an energy that could wake a sleeping giant. The songwriting utilizes modern techniques that bring dynamics with a minor key halfway through the verse. Unapologetic in its rowdiness, heavy Australian accents belt the chorus with the confidence of a drunken karaoke singer on a Saturday night. Invigorated by the release of their fourth album “Hestia”, The Rumjacks quickly went back into the studio to record “Brass for Gold” EP, capitalizing off their new sense of artistry. Johnny McKelvey from the band said: “After the amazing response we had from Hestia’s release, we knew we had to back it up, do it justice and show we aren’t messing around with any of this”. “If you are passionate about what you do, you can’t sit on [Read More]

Deaf Havana announce brand-new record and share new single

January 22, 2022

Deaf Havana announce the release of their sixth studio album, “The Present Is A Foreign Land”! The long-awaited follow-up to their hit album “Rituals” comes with 12 tracks written and recorded entirely by brothers James and Matty Veck-Gilodi themselves. In terms of content, the emotional songs revolve around topics such as impostor syndrome, overcoming difficult life obstacles, and self-discovery. In 2020, the band members of Deaf Havana made their decision to go their separate ways after a decade of history together, but then the pandemic struck and they had no choice but to quit making music altogether. Still, Matty continued to write new songs, which brought him and his brother James back together after a tumultuous few months. The two decided to continue as Deaf Havana and holed up in a Hastings studio with producer Mike Horner (Hot Chip, Jess Glynne, YONAKA, among others) to deliver a mature and accomplished work called “The Present Is A Foreign Land”. The new single “ Going Clear“: The honest and vulnerable track once again combines James’ unmistakable voice [Read More]

Set It Off share new single “Protector”

January 22, 2022

Alternative trio Set It Off delivers the high-energy single/music video “Projector” on January 21st, available worldwide via Fearless Records. Following their latest single “Skeleton,” “Projector” further teases their upcoming album “Elsewhere”, which premieres on March 11th. “Elsewhere” promises to divulge an unseen vulnerability to Set It Off’s musicality, in addition to varied moods and worlds for listeners. With an in-your-face attitude, Set It Off is releasing all of their pent-up aggression off of their chests in “Projector.” Enough is enough, and instead of aiming your inner turmoil at others, the band simply emphasizes that people need to listen more and talk less. Discussing the inspiration of “Projector,” singer/lyricist Cody Carson describes “the amount of people that end up entering my life that are incapable of saying ‘I’m wrong,’ ‘I messed up,’ or ‘I’m sorry’ is baffling to me. Instead you’re met with finger pointing, excuses, and anger. They project their issues onto other people or even onto you just so they don’t have to face it themselves… I just want people to be able to [Read More]
